  • Patent number: 10518636
Abstract: An assembly according to the present disclosure includes a bezel having a first aperture therethrough. The bezel has a first face and a second face. The second face is provided with a plurality of retention loops. The assembly includes an elongate member disposed at least partially within the first aperture. The elongate member is generally fixedly positioned relative to the bezel. The assembly further includes a movable closeout feature having a second aperture therethrough. The elongate member is disposed at least partially within the second aperture. The movable closeout feature is provided with a plurality of tabs. Respective tabs of the plurality of tabs are disposed in corresponding respective loops of the plurality of retention loops. The movable closeout feature is repositionable relative to the bezel by contact with the elongate member.

  • Patent number: 8833836
Abstract: A water deflector includes a skeleton and a skin. The skeleton fills substantially the entire perimeter of an access opening. The skin is formed integrally over the skeleton, such that at least a portion of the skeleton is captured by the skin. The skin also spans substantially all of an interior of the access opening. A snap feature is formed in the skeleton and configured to mate to a perimeter of the access opening. Therefore, the skeleton is configured to hold the water deflector in the access opening such that the water deflector prevents passage of moisture through the access opening.

  • Patent number: 8507075
Abstract: A methodology for adhesively attaching a barrier sheet to a motor vehicle inside door panel. A plurality of adhesive beds are disposed on the attachment face of a barrier sheet, whereby pressure applied to the barrier sheet causes the adhesive beads to wet-out with respect to the door inside panel and mergingly wet-out with respect to each other so as to thereby form an adhesive band. Visual inspection of the continuity of the merged wet-out through the barrier sheet provides installer feedback regarding installation integrity.

  • Patent number: 7784851
Abstract: The apparatus of the present invention provides a passive water management system for vehicle doors. One or more water management troughs are formed into the inner door panel of the vehicle door at least partially encircling one or more holes or opening through the inner door panel. Strips of adhesive material are provided proximate to and extending along each side of the water management trough. A water deflector sheet of water shedding material is secured to the inner door panel by the adhesive strips, such that the strips, water management trough and deflector sheet form a conduit for routing water to drain holes draining into the door cavity thereby preventing water incursion through the inner door panel openings from reaching the vehicle interior. A method of managing water seeping into a vehicle door is also disclosed.
