Patent number: 11977711Abstract: A resource tagging service allows resource tags to be created and associated with computing resources in a service provider network. The resource tags can be utilized to search, collect, filter, organize and otherwise manage computing resources in the service provider network having matching tags, and/or to perform other types of functionality. A resource groups service allows customers and/or other users of the service provider network to view and access collections of computing resources that share common resource tags and/or other attributes. Resource groups can also be evaluated in order to identify computing resources in a service provider network for which certain types of actions or other functionality is to be performed. Membership of resource groups can also be evaluated over time and inferences can be drawn from the membership and from operational information associated with the member computing resources.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2015Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Brian Kahrs, Shawn Galen Truesdell, Raleigh Harrison Upshur, Asa Denton, David Whitney, Donley Ray P'Simer, Craig Andrew Noeldner

Patent number: 11966769Abstract: Computing system enhancements make container instantiation faster, reduce layer content storage demands, and make more container image formats available. A container instantiation location sends a container image pull request to a container registry, receives an image manifest, sends a layer mount request to the registry instead of a layer content download request, receives a layer mount, optionally repeats for additional layers, creates a union file system spanning the layers, and launches a container process based on the union file system without first downloading all the layer content.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2019Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Eric Ray Hotinger, Bin Du, Sajay Antony, Steven M. Publication number: 20230296046Abstract: An autonomous modular device for an electric generating plant is described which may be in the form of a container that makes use of a vehicular engine adjacent to the canopy of a modular structure. A drycooler heat exchanger, with a layout different from the other existing layouts, implying improvements in the use of this type of autonomous generator system, is provided insofar as it provides easy transport, adequate consumption without mechanical loss and high energy efficiency. In one embodiment the vehicular engine is placed under the canopy of the modular structure, wherein a drycooler heat exchanger is accommodated, and not an engine radiator, with a different arrangement from the other existing units. A second embodiment is adapted to places where there is no physical space for the model including the heat exchanger under the canopy, forcing the installation on the ceiling of the installation, or for other installations.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2023Publication date: September 21, 2023Inventors: Sandro Marchini, Brian Ray Brewer, Robert James McKinnon

Patent number: 11637831Abstract: An application programming interface (API) platform accesses cloud-based software services in a cloud computing system. API requests used in the API platform include a tenant specific endpoint (TSE) that uses a unique tenant identifier and an API endpoint as a URL domain. The unique tenant identifier identifies a tenant associated with the API request and the API endpoint identifies one of the cloud-based software services. The combination of the unique tenant identifier and the API endpoint in the domain of the TSE maps to an IP address for a specific software service in a specific one of the data centers in the cloud computing system assigned to the tenant. This allows API requests to be routed directly to the tenant specific data centers without first being routed through a central routing service.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2019Date of Patent: April 25, 2023Assignee: SALESFORCE, INC.Inventors: Kyle Edward Heldman, Brian Ray Brinegar, Chad Anthony Vanhorn, Dinesh Rajasekharan, Joshua Allen Bronson, Joshua Thomas Armstrong, John Damon Rice, Nathan Alan Corn, Tyler Christopher Staley

Publication number: 20210310840Abstract: Described herein are thermal mass flow sensors that combine calorimetric and anemometric (e.g., hot-wire) elements to provide a hybrid approach to determining flow rate of a liquid. The flow probes or flow sensors are configured to use a heater to apply heat to a thermally-conducting material in contact with the flowing liquid, to measure a temperature of the thermally-conducting material upstream of the heater and downstream or at the heater, to adjust power to the heater to achieve a targeted temperature difference, and to determine a flow rate based at least in part on the power supplied to the heater and the measured temperatures. This approach provides flow rate due at least in part to the fluid cooling the thermally-conductive material proportionate to flow rate with non-linear effects. This hybrid approach can provide accurate readings of flow rates of liquids delivered through an IV line to a patient.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2021Publication date: October 7, 2021Inventors: Cole Emerson Feagler, Sakyasingh Tripathy, Brian Ray Hipszer, Feras Al Hatib, Hengchu Cao
