  • Publication number: 20030051450
Abstract: A liquid reservoir tank assembly includes a gas-liquid separator, such as an air-oil separator. A tank body has an open end, a portion of the tank body forming a liquid separation chamber, another portion of the tank body forming a liquid reservoir. A tank cover covers the open end of the tank body, the tank body and the tank cover providing a gas inlet and a gas outlet with a gas flow through the separation chamber from the gas inlet to the gas outlet. The gas-liquid separator is mounted in the separation chamber in the gas flow between the gas inlet and the gas outlet. The separator has a coalescing stage layer and a drain stage layer arranged radially symmetrically about an axis extending through the interior of the separator, the coalescing stage layer being upstream of the drain stage layer. Each of the layers is generally frustoconical in shape.

  • Patent number: 6093231
Abstract: An air/oil separator has a filter media pack arranged radially symmetrically about an axis. A bottom end cap is secured to one end of the filter media pack. A top end cap and flange assembly includes a flange and trough member having a flange portion extending radially outwardly from the axis providing a flange for mounting the separator such that the separator is suspended from the flange portion. The flange and trough member also has a trough portion providing an inverted trough within which is a hardenable material secured to the other end of the filter media pack. The flange and trough member is a single unitary member forming both flange and the trough, which eliminates separate flange and trough members which must be welded or brazed together.

  • Patent number: 4014284
Abstract: A differential pressure indicator for indicating the degree of contamination of a filter element, has a piston movable against a spring by increasing differential pressure and the piston is connected through a helical constraint to turn a magnetic element as the piston moves. An indicator element is located on the opposite side of a wall from the magnetic element and is magnetically coupled to it and is thereby turned by the first element as the latter turns.

  • Patent number: 3980040
Abstract: A differential pressure indicator for indicating the state of a filter element comprises a magnetic piston slidable in a sleeve against a spring and subjected at its opposed faces to the pressures on each side of the filter element. A rod fixed to the piston has steps or projections which can be forced through an expansible collet as the differential pressure increases. The piston thus has a limited number of precise positions which are indicated by an indicator element of magnetic material slidable on a member exterior of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 3950256
Abstract: A support structure for a pleated filter element is moulded of nylon and has parallel spaced bars joined at one face by the bases of frusto-conical fingers moulded integrally therewith. During manufacture of the element, the rows of fingers are engaged in the pleats of pleated filter medium from a pleating machine and the assembly is then curved into cylindrical shape.
