  • Publication number: 20140370879
Abstract: Methods, non-transitory processor-readable storage media, systems, and devices for provisioning devices associated with wireless identity transmitters. An embodiment method performed by a proximity broadcast receiver may include operations for receiving a broadcast message including a secure identifier from a wireless identity transmitter, transmitting to a central server a sighting message that includes the secure identifier and an identity of the proximity broadcast receiver, receiving from the central server a return message that includes identification information related to the received broadcast message and that is authorized to be distributed to the proximity broadcast receiver based on data stored on the central server, and provisioning a device associated with the received broadcast message based on the identification information from the received return message.

  • Publication number: 20130257365
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for connecting with a charging device via a wireless communications network. In one aspect, a wireless charger comprises a transmitter configured to transmit a power signal. The wireless charger further comprises a device scanner configured to scan for one or more connection solicitations transmitted by devices. The wireless charger further comprises a receiver configured to receive a connection solicitation via the wireless communications network from the charging device in response to the transmitted power signal. The transmitter may be configured to transmit a connection request to establish a connection with the charging device in response to the received connection solicitation.

  • Publication number: 20120257561
Abstract: Systems and methods for multicasting using Bluetooth low energy are described herein. In one embodiment, a first device advertises multicasting capabilities over one or more channels using a first type of advertising packet. One or more receiving devices scan the one or more channels for the first type of advertising packets to identify the first device as a multicasting capable device. Further, the one or more receiving devices request information from the first device as to the channel and timing of transmission of the multicasting data. The one or more receiving devices use the requested information to listen for the multicasting data on the appropriate channel.

  • Patent number: 7807307
Abstract: A Personal Area Network (PAN) (100) including multiple communication devices (104, 106, 108) is provided. The communication devices are capable of communicating with each other and a connection point. The communication devices derive energy from multiple fuel cells (110, 112, 114). The PAN is capable of distributing fuel to the multiple fuel cells from a common fuel container (116), if the communication devices are attached to the connection point.

  • Publication number: 20070197164
Abstract: Described are a method and a Bluetooth device that upon powering up (202), the device automatically enters (306) discoverable mode without user intervention when its paired device list is empty (304). Also described is emptying (206) the paired device list. Further described is a method and Bluetooth device having one or more devices listed in its paired device list and wherein attempts are made at communication with the listed devices in one or more predetermined manners and if the attempts are not successful, automatically entering discoverable mode (306). Still further described is a method and device for attempting communication with the previously paired devices which may be interposed with entering into discoverable mode until either one is successful.

  • Publication number: 20070076672
Abstract: A method (100) and system (10) for controlling ad-hoc membership in wireless networks to improve battery life includes determining (102) the capabilities of each of the members of a network and upon launching an application at a member, determining (104) a profile of members of the network required to support the application. A master device (12) can optionally disassociate (106) from the slave devices surveyed until an application is launched having a profile requiring a particular slave device. The method can further include associating (108) the members of the network in the profile and temporarily disassociating (110) a remaining group of members of the network. At another step (112), the method can also assign a higher priority to the members meeting the profile and assign a lower priority to the members that are temporarily disassociated and thereby reduce a maintenance cycle by probing the lower priority members less frequently.

  • Patent number: 5493681
Abstract: Alternative instances of an element class are configured in a software system. In one instance, called a single element instance, the software system is configured to support a single element of a class of existing hardware/software elements, called an element class. In another instance, called a multiple element instance, the software system is configured to support multiple elements of the element class. For example, the single element instance might utilize only a single central processing unit (CPU), whereas the multiple element instance allows for several different CPUs to be utilized.
