  • Patent number: 11293147
Abstract: A compaction machine may include a chassis, first and second drums rotatably mounted to the chassis, first and second vibration mechanisms, and a vibration controller. The first vibration mechanism may be configured to generate vibrations that are transmitted as impacts by the first drum to a work surface, and the second vibration mechanism may be configured to generate vibrations that are transmitted as impacts by the second drum to the work surface. The vibration controller may be configured to control at least one of the first and second vibration mechanisms so that a first pattern of impacts transmitted to the work surface by the first drum and a second pattern of impacts transmitted to the work surface by the second drum are coordinated as the compaction machine moves over the work surface. Related controllers and methods are also discussed.

  • Patent number: 9915039
Abstract: A device for cleaning a drum surface of an asphalt compactor. The device has a first and a second brackets fixed to a body of the compactor, a first supporting arm pivotably connected to the first bracket, a second supporting arm pivotably connected to the second bracket, a roller shaft supported by the supporting arms and is parallel to the rotation axis of the drum, a roller wiper mounted to the roller shaft and is extending along the width of the drum, contacting the surface of the drum. The device further has elastic members engaged between the brackets and the supporting arms. These elastic members are pressing the roller wiper against the surface of the drum. The roller wiper of the device has an enhanced lifespan.

  • Publication number: 20170009406
Abstract: A water ballast for a compactor is disclosed. A ballast tank is installed under a cover plate having a plurality of holes. Through the holes of the cover plate, water falling onto the cover plate drains into the ballast tank. The edges all around the cover plate are slightly angled upwards in order to prevent water from draining out of the cover plate. Also, the water ballast has a ballast drain port on the compactor's frame. The ballast drain port is connected with a drain hole on the ballast tank by a drain hose so that it is used to drain out some water from the ballast tank.
