  • Patent number: 9199508
Abstract: An apparatus includes a wheel cover having a relatively-planar disc shape covering a concavity of a truck wheel rim, and a retainer for holding the wheel cover on the wheel rim. In one form, the retainer includes a hula-hoop-shaped ring that engages a channel in the outer lip of the wheel rim (or engages a channel formed by brackets attached to the outer lip). In another form, the retainer includes a clamp ring retainer attached to the rim's axle portion, and coil springs biasingly retaining the wheel cover to the truck wheel. The wheel cover includes radial ribs each having an outer end that forms a pocket shaped to engage an outer lip on the truck rim, thus holding and centering the wheel cover on the truck wheel. Anti-wear foam components are attached to reduce wear by the wheel cover on the rim.

  • Patent number: 8973973
Abstract: A trailer skirt includes a plurality of panel modules attached under and along sides of a trailer. Each panel module comprises an outwardly angled flat panel with upper edge attached to a trailer undercarriage frame and a forward edge tabbed to slots in an inward-stepped rear edge of an adjacent identical panel module. The stair-stepped surface and leak-free connection provides excellent low air drag, and also provides good orientation of reflectors for lights when passing another vehicle. A modularity of the panel modules and their low weight allows them to be molded in an efficient and low cost manufacturing operation, shipped in a very compact and dense arrangement, quickly installed, and allows individual panel modules to be replaced without total disassembly of the skirt.

  • Publication number: 20130025176
Abstract: A signage system comprises polybag signage, and a sign holder system supporting the signage. The system includes a cross bar and rods that friction fit into aperture bosses on ends of the cross bar, thus creating a quick-erectable frame for supporting the signage. The cross bar is made of polymeric material such as reground glass filled polypropylene, and has a transverse cross section that is X-shaped or U-shaped for uniformity to facilitate molding and that resists undesired bending and length-wise distortion. The aperture bosses include crush ribs that facilitate easy installation but good retention of the rods. The pair of rods can be stored against sides of the cross bar in a dense storage position, and the polybag signage wrapped around the rods and cross bar for dense shipping and/or storage and/or display. The cross bar can also support an upper frame for additional signage.
