According to one aspect of the invention, the garment bag is secured to the interior of the luggage bag with the aid of a releasable coupling mechanism. According to another aspect of the invention, the interior of the garment bag is provided with a spring expandable hanger bar. The hanger bar expands when the garment bag is removed from the luggage bag. This allows easier access to the contents of the garment bag.
