  • Publication number: 20230150462
Abstract: A system and method of mu estimation may include the steps of collecting vehicle travel data on a road surface via a plurality of a sensors including at least one of an accelerometer or microphone; collecting external source data over a network; and aggregating the vehicle travel data and external source data to form an aggregated data set. The method may include performing feature extraction processing of the aggregated data set to transform the aggregated data set and into a processed aggregated data set; communicating the processed aggregated data set to a machine learning model; and generating at least one of an estimated mu value of the road surface or road surface classification via the machine learning model.

  • Patent number: 11225222
Abstract: A method for access to a vehicle includes receiving data from an identification device related to at least one device environment sensor of the identification device. At least one pattern associated with the received data is identified. An environment of the identification device based on feedback from the at least one device environment sensor is determined. The environment to the at least one pattern is compared. In response to the comparing step, access to the vehicle is allowed or denied.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 8, 2019
Date of Patent: January 18, 2022
    Assignee: Continental Automotive Systems, Inc.
Inventors: Jason Brian Schwegler, Michael Eric Pierfelice, Brian James Marlett
  • Patent number: 10800381
Abstract: A method for access to a vehicle includes determining first environment patterns for a plurality of interfaces relative to a vehicle, determining whether the first environment patterns match second environment patterns for the plurality of interfaces relative to an identification device, and allowing access to the vehicle if a match is determined.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 16, 2019
Date of Patent: October 13, 2020
    Assignee: Continental Automotive Systems, Inc.

  • Publication number: 20180286219
Abstract: A taxi or other vehicle summoned by someone who needs a ride can be remotely controlled to announce its presence by the person who summoned the taxi or other vehicle. Using a cell phone, a user establishes a wireless communications link between his or her cell phone and a cell phone in the taxi or other vehicle. A second wireless link between the taxi-located cell phone and the vehicle's control bus enables commands to be sent to the vehicle's horn, lights and other annunciators from the user's cell phone. Images of the requesting user can also be sent to the taxi-located cell phone.
