  • Publication number: 20110267661
Abstract: An apparatus for scanning pages of bound materials is disclosed. The apparatus includes a base with a platform configured to support bound materials laid open. A depressor with a complimentary surface is provided to depress pages of the bound material flat against the platform of the base. The depressor has a transparent portion allowing the pages of the bound material to be viewed therethrough. The depressor is removable from the base. A camera assembly is connected to and supported over the depressor. At least one camera attached to the camera assembly and aimed towards the transparent portion of the depressor. The camera is configured to capture a digital image of at least one page of the bound material through the transparent portion of the depressor when the depressor is placed over a bound material that is laid open in the platform of the base.

  • Publication number: 20060221776
Abstract: A docking system and mixer for portable media devices includes two control interfaces that correspond to two dock seat to receive two media storage devices, such as a portable music player, therein. A microcontroller resides in the housing and the media controls on the housing for each of the players are electrically interconnected to the microcontroller. Media items are stored on storage components, such as a hard drive, in each of the portable media devices. Manipulation of the control surfaces commands the operation of the media storage devices, such as playback of an audio or video file thereon. The outputs of both of the media storage devices are controlled and mixed via a disc jockey style interface.

  • Publication number: 20050259532
Abstract: An all-in-one media player and mixer for a disc jockey has a fixed storage device capable for storing media thereon. The media player also has two interfaces having independent selectable settings and corresponding removable media devices attached thereto. Each interface is connected to the fixed storage device and generates its own signal by playing media from the fixed storage device or its corresponding removable media device. The media player also has a mixer the selectively mixes the signal of the interfaces into a mixed signal and communicates it through an output.

  • Publication number: 20050052981
Abstract: The digital sound playback device (10) of the present invention includes a physical interface that closely simulates an analog scratch turntable. The digital sound playback device (10) includes a motor (30) that directly drives a hollow spindle (36). A platter (14) is connected to the hollow spindle (36). A center spindle (18) is routed through the hollow spindle (36) where the rotational axis of the hollow spindle (36) is co-axial with the rotational axis of the center spindle (18). A full-size vinyl LP record (16) is removably connected to the center spindle (18). Digital encoders (82, 84) are used to respectively detect the rotational speed and direction of the platter (14) and the center spindle (18) to respectively create a platter and center spindle control signal. The control signals are used by a central control processor (100) to determine how the digitized audio should be modified. As a result, a digital audio file can be scratched in similar fashion to an analog vinyl record on an analog turntable.
