  • Publication number: 20200304966
Abstract: An electronic device is located in a room. The device has a casing, a first processor coupled to a radar transceiver, a second processor coupled to a motion sensor, and memory. Using the second processor, the device determines using signals from the motion sensor whether an object is in proximity. In accordance with a determination that the object is in proximity, the device wakes up the first processor. Using the first processor, the device enables operation of the radar transceiver. It determines using signals from the radar transceiver whether the object is in contact with the casing. In accordance with a determination that the object is in contact with the casing, the device identifies an input command based on at least one of: a location of the object, and a movement of the object, and adjusts operation based on the input command.

  • Patent number: 10745893
Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating water conservation and smart water control are provided. Water conservation and smart water control can be achieved using a smart water apparatus having the ability to approximate distance, mass, and/or specific characteristics of an object such as a human or inanimate object and adjust flow rate of water and/or temperature of the water based on the approximated distance, mass, and/or specific characteristics of an object. The smart water apparatus can be embodied, for example, in a network connected shower head or a network connected faucet.

  • Publication number: 20200233079
Abstract: An electronic device includes an image sensor having a field of view, a radar module, one or more processors, and memory. The electronic device captures image data of a scene that is within the field of view of the image sensor. The electronic device receives radar signals from one or more objects in the scene. The device determines respective location and/or movement of the one or more objects based on the radar signals. It further identifies a first object of the one or more objects based on a combination of the image data and the radar signals.

  • Publication number: 20190385373
Abstract: A method for optimizing the placement of smart-home devices may include receiving, by a mobile computing device, a location for a smart-home device, where the mobile computing device comprises a display and a camera; rendering a view of a virtual object that represents a field-of-view of the smart-home device, where the view of the virtual object is rendered based on a position corresponding to a position of the mobile computing device; and displaying, by the mobile computing device, the view of a virtual object that represents a field-of-view of the smart-home device on the display of the mobile computing device.

  • Publication number: 20050072966
Abstract: A durable, moisture and insect resistant fence system made from fiber cement is provided. The fence system includes one or more fiber cement pickets aligned between two posts that are anchored to the ground. The fiber cement pickets are formed into the desired shape and dimension prior to curing of the fiber cement. One end of the pickets can be formed into popular pickets designs such as square cut, dog-eared, French gothic, scalloped, pointed, and saw-toothed. The fence system can be easily assembled using conventional techniques such as nailing or stapling. The fiber cement pickets can be formed to resemble conventional fence pickets made from natural wood, masonry, or other materials. Patterns, textures, finishes and designs are applied to the pickets using man-made processes so that the pickets have a consistent appearance.
