  • Patent number: 10953693
Abstract: There is described a quick-release arrangement for mounting a bicycle wheel (2) to a hub of a bicycle frame (1) using a single-sided mount. The quick-release arrangement includes a number of levers (12) each movable between a closed position, in which the wheel is retained to the bicycle hub, and an open position in which the wheel is freely removable. A locking ring (21) is mounted to the bicycle wheel and is rotatable between an open position and a locked position. When the locking ring (21) is in the locked position, hooks (24) on the locking ring (21) are engageable with pins (26) mounted on the levers (12), to prevent the levers (12) from moving out of their closed positions. The locking ring (21) may be mounted to a lever cover plate (18) which is fixed to the wheel and arranged so as to partially cover the levers (12) when they are in their closed positions. The lever cover plate (18) may have a window (27) through which an indicator is visible to indicate the position of the locking ring (21).

  • Publication number: 20200358716
Abstract: Sending network data. A method includes transmitting data on a communication link, in an environment. A network control overhead portion of the data is allocated to network control overhead data packets for controlling how data is transmitted on the communication link. A user data portion of the data is allocated to user data packets for transmitting data between users of nodes on the communication link. A change in data capacity of the communication link is identified. As a result, a change is made in the network control overhead portion of the data, changing at least one of frequency of network control overhead data packets or size of network control overhead data packets to attempt to maintain a predetermined proportion factor for the network control overhead portion as compared to the user data portion. The network control overhead portion of the data is transmitted according to the change.

  • Patent number: 10797899
Abstract: Sending data on a network based on limiting the propagation of data based on a distance between a sender of the data and one or more receivers of the data. A method includes determining a maximum distance that a message should travel in a network from a sender to a receiver. The method further includes configuring a distance property or distance proxy property conforming with the determined distance. The method further includes sending the message by transmitting the message in a fashion that causes the message to be carried on the network in compliance with the configured distance property or distance proxy property.

  • Patent number: 10189523
Abstract: There is described a handlebar mountable bicycle light for fitting to a bicycle handlebar (3) between brake levers (4). The bicycle light comprises an upper cover (5) and a lower cover (6) which are preferably made from injection molded plastics and of a clam shell type arrangement able to receive handlebar (3) and rigidly retain light pipe assembly (7) with cover screws (8). Lower cover (6) contains an aperture (14) through which the handlebar stem (9) extends. The light pipe assembly (7) comprises a transparent rod-like light pipe (18) with LEDs (26) mounted at each end of the light pipe (18). The light pipe assembly 7 further includes heat sinks (24) to draw heat away from the LEDs (26). The arrangement is such that when the bicycle light is mounted to the handlebar, the heat sinks (24) are in contact with the handlebar so that heat from the LEDs may be conducted via the heat sinks (24) to the handlebar material.

  • Patent number: 8407090
Abstract: A method for dynamically reassigning in-game advertisements within a video game in order to maximize impression counts for the advertisements includes the steps of: determining when an advertisement at a first view location qualifies as on screen and incrementing an elapsed time for the advertisement while it qualifies as on screen. The method also includes the steps of calculating a current impression count for the advertisement and determining whether a maximum impression count for the advertisement has been reached or is within a prescribed value of being reached. If so, another advertisement is dynamically assigned to the first view location by removing the initial advertisement therefrom in order to maximize the cumulative impression counts for the advertisements.

  • Patent number: 8272612
Abstract: A clip for holding an object on a supporting member comprises a holding clamp and an attaching clamp. The holding clamp has a pair of clamping members with oppositely bowed gripping portions and inwardly arched handles. The oppositely bowed gripping portions form together, when engaged, jaws for holding an object such as a cigar. The jaws are connected together for pivotal movement to cooperate with each other for clamping action upon actuation of their handles. At the juncture point of the jaws with the handles, the clamping members are provided with aligned, apertured supports for receipt of an axial binding post or rivet that extends through the apertures and for holding the clamping members together and in axial alignment. A spring, normally biasing the clamping members towards a closed position is looped around the post with its ends locked against the handles.
