  • Publication number: 20230241948
Abstract: The present invention relates to a vehicle windshield melting device primarily comprised of a housing, at least one LED, at least one button, a USB port, at least one handle, at least one strap attached to at least one clip, and a screen further comprised of at least one internal heating coil. The device can be placed on the windshield of a vehicle wherein the screen is then deployed from the housing. Then, the heating coil within the screen can be activated using the button to melt snow and ice off the windshield. The clip may be used to further secure the device to the vehicle and prevent movement of the device during use. The device may have a plurality of heating levels for the heating coil, wherein each level can be selected by the button and indicated by the LED. When not in use, the screen can be retracted into the housing.

  • Patent number: 8643508
Abstract: The present general inventive concept relates to methods and systems to select and display information on an avionics display screen. The systems and methods allow for the selection and display of information using knobs to highlight and select the desired information for display, eliminating the need for a cursor function. The systems and methods also provide for multiple pages and/or multiple windows or “tiles” within these pages and/or windows simultaneously on a single screen of a display, with each window, page, and/or tile being fully controlled independently when selected. The present general inventive concept also relates to systems and methods to provide multiple cues on an electronic display system altitude tape to a pilot in advance and impending approach to a predefined altitude. The present general inventive concept also relates to systems and methods to employ variable resolution topographical data based on display range for an avionics navigation display.

  • Publication number: 20110126250
Abstract: A user interacts with a data storage service which enables one or more feeds from video and or web cameras to be streamed to the data storage service. The data storage service then provides storage and/or playback services to the subscriber (e.g., for a monthly fee or a usage fee). Once the video streams have been established between at least one camera and the data storage facility, the user may access the recorded data from any one of several sources, such as a world wide web browser or a cellular phone). The interface may provide a matrix of displays such that the user can see multiple areas or multiple parts of the same area simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20080109897
Abstract: Access Control Lists (ACLs) are used to describe the permitted actions (permissions) on protected network computer system resources or objects associated with an client or user identity. An identity may be an individual user or group of users. The actions are used to represent the different access methods available on a particular projected object or resource. A new action grouping mechanism is provided which tags each action with an action group name. The grouping of actions facilitates a larger permission set to be defined in an ACL, whereas action permission indicators can be reused for unique action definitions within various action groups. This effectively extends the finite total number of permissions available within a security system, allows a more descriptive and extensible permission mechanism in an Access Control List, as well as aiding in the simplification of management and definition of security policies.

  • Publication number: 20080070256
Abstract: Disclosed are non-human animal models, and preferably, rodent models, and more preferably, mouse models, of B-cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL). In particular, the present invention provides animal models of B cell NHL including, B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia/lymphoma (B-CLL), Burkitt's lymphoma (BL), Follicular-like lymphoma (FLL) and Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), as well as various methods for producing these non-human animal models. These animal models, as well as cell lines produced from or derived from these models, are useful tools for a variety of methods, including, but not limited to, preclinical testing of drug candidates, and particularly drug candidates that are specific for human proteins, and any research, development, pharmaceutical, or clinical purpose, including but not limited to, the identification, development, and/or testing of drugs (therapeutics, prophylactics, etc.

  • Publication number: 20060277763
Abstract: Elastomeric sleeves are positioned on the handles of tile nippers to maintain the tile nippers in an open position and to absorb shock. The elastomeric sleeves each include two opposed raised projections. The raised projections nearest the head of the tile nipper bias the tile nipper in an open position and provide cushioning as the tile nippers engage a piece of tile. The second raised projections contact each other as the tile nipper cuts the tile, preventing the jaws from contacting each other and reducing the jolt that the user feels as they cut the tile.

  • Publication number: 20060101773
Abstract: Fiber-reinforced pultruded planks serve as underlayment for tile, stone or terrazzo. In one embodiment, the planks have a thin base surface with a plurality of elongated ridges. The planks have interlocking tongue and groove edges. The elongated ridges have a narrow base and a wider distal portion wherein the areas between adjacent ridges have a trapezoidal cross sectional configuration with the thin base resting on the support. Tile can be adhered to the surface using a rigid cementitious adhesive which fills in the trapezoidal area, creating a very rigid support structure. If the planks are reversed with the ridges resting on the support, tile or stone can be adhered to the relatively smooth thin base with an epoxy adhesive.
