  • Patent number: 11524732
Abstract: A machine system includes a roller frame and a roller assembly mounted to the roller frame. The roller assembly includes first and second clamping collars positioned upon a roller shaft and each including a lower and an upper collar section. Fasteners clamp the lower and upper collar sections to the roller shaft to form static seals. The clamping collars may be formed with splitlines to enable the clamping collars to deform so as to simulate interference fits with the roller shaft.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 11, 2018
Date of Patent: December 13, 2022
    Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.

  • Patent number: 9355806
Abstract: A cathode assembly is for use in a radiation generator and includes an ohmically heated cathode, and a support having formed therein a hole and a recess at least partially surrounding the hole. In addition, there is a mount coupled to the support. The mount includes a larger outer frame positioned within the recess, a smaller inner frame carrying the ohmically heated cathode and spaced apart from the larger outer frame, and a plurality of members coupling the smaller inner frame to the larger outer frame.

  • Patent number: 8104614
Abstract: A case for storing medical instruments contains a rotating bracket for holding the instruments. The bracket is connected to the tray and hinged lid of the case via a movable frame, and the bracket movement is controlled by opening and closing of the lid. When the lid is closed, the bracket points the tips of the instruments downward to minimize water collection; and when the lid is opened, the instrument holding bracket rotates so that the instruments it holds are moved to a vertical position, facilitating instrument selection.

  • Publication number: 20100318130
Abstract: A flexible spinal fixation rod assembly that provides relatively stiff bending compliance provided by a core rod or tube that is connected to surrounding spring and associated couplings in such a way that when the core rod is bent, the spring extends and the associated couplings move away from each other, with the core rod generating a force tending to return the core rod to its unbent configuration thereof and the spring generating a force tending to return the couplings to there unextended configuration thereof. Couplings connect each end of the rod or tube to corresponding pedicle screws for attachment to corresponding vertebrae. As the spine bends, this arrangement allows the spine to bend against limited resistance, exhibiting the necessary axial and compressive strength, and applies force to return the spine to its original configuration.

  • Publication number: 20100256646
Abstract: A tool for delivering bio-compatible solid, fluid or mixed solid and fluid substances to an operating site within a patient. The tool has a tubular body or barrel with a central longitudinal through hole and a flow control valve for selectively allowing material to flow from a holding chamber within the barrel through an extender tip to a dispensing end of the tool. A plunger having a piston at one end may be inserted through the dispensing end of the barrel and drawn distally to aspirate material into the holding chamber using a syringe attached to the proximal end of the barrel, after which the valve is closed to retain the material in the chamber. The plunger, which fits into the through hole from either end of the barrel, is then removed and re-inserted into the proximal end of the barrel, the barrel valve is opened, and the plunger is pushed to move the material in the holding chamber through the extender tip and out the distal end of the barrel.

  • Publication number: 20050055853
Abstract: A tip assembly has a replaceable wear member mounted to an adapter carried on the cutting edge of an implement of an earth-working machine. The adapter has an external surface formed to engage a complementary internal cavity of the wear member and includes a pair of transversely spaced sides at least one of the transversely spaced sides include a guide arrangement and a retainer pocket positioned therein. The wear member has a body with an exterior ground-engaging surface, a mounting end, an adapter receiving cavity and at least one ear extending from the mounting end. The at least one ear is configured to be received by the guide arrangement when the wear member is positioned on the adapter.
