The cooking apparatus having an adjustment mechanism drivingly connected with the fuel component support device. The adjustment mechanism includes a handle section and an interconnected shaft assembly connected with the handle section, the interconnected shaft assembly including a first shaft section and a linkage assembly drivingly connected to the first shaft section and positioned between a base portion of the cooking container and the fuel component support device such that rotation of the first shaft, as by a vertical swinging of the handle section, produces an opposite direction change in vertical height in the linkage assembly and the supported fuel component support device. A handle engagement section is provided as in one that includes a plurality of height position stop engagement locations.

Abstract: Cooking apparatus having a shell structure with a reception cavity and a base bottom. The base bottom includes an essentially solid funnel wall extending down and in toward a lower fluid outlet. A leg support assembly is secured to the shell structure and a holder device is positioned within a reception cavity of the shell structure. The holder device has an upper portion secured to the shell structure and a lower catch support portion. The food holder defines a food reception recess and a food holder base bottom. The food holder base bottom has an essentially solid, sloped wall extending down and in from a lower end portion of said main body portion. The food holder is supported in a state of suspension by the catch device and is configured with a lower portion that extends below the lower catch support portion and above an underlying region of the shell base bottom. A heating device extends into heat transfer proximity to the food holder.

Abstract: A cooking fuel ignition assembly for an outdoor cooking apparatus as in a barbeque grill. The ignition assembly includes a tinder support combination of an ash can and tinder support stand. An operator inserts the tinder support stand within the ash can such that its lower spacer structure makes contact with the base of the ash can receptacle and the upper tinder platform is in the upper region of the ash can. The operator places tinder T on the upper surface of the tinder platform. The tinder combination with tinder is mounted in suspended fashion below an aperture in the grill base such that upon ignition of the tinder a flame extends up through, for example, an interface slide catch collar assembly and into an ignition relationship with supported cooking fuel above.
