    Abstract: An automated packaging station is capable of being used to package objects. The automated packaging station includes a supply of web material, a surface (202), an aperture (206) therein, and a closing system. The automated packaging station is configured to form the web material into a pouch. The aperture (206) is configured such that an object can be inserted therethrough. The automated packaging station is configured to bias open the pouch beneath the surface such that the object inserted through the aperture falls into the pouch. The closing system is configured to close the pouch to form a package around the object in response to the object being inserted through the aperture. The object is capable of being shipped to a recipient in the package.

Information is received, where the information includes one or more of recipient-specific information associated with an intended recipient of the collection and product-specific information associated with the collection. Targeted information is selected for the collection based on the received information. The targeted information is affixed on a protective packaging material to create a targeted protective packaging material. A package is created by combining the targeted protective packaging material and the collection.

    Abstract: Example embodiments provide methods, apparatus, systems, and computer program products for providing a packaging solution and a corresponding predetermined sequence of packing materials. In one embodiment, a method for controlling one or more packing material making machines is provided. The method comprises storing one or more predetermined packing recipes, wherein a packing recipe comprises (a) machine instructions for making a sequence of one or more packing materials and (b) a packaging solution for positioning the one or more packing materials in a container with an item. One of the one or more predetermined packing recipes is selected based on received input. The method further comprises causing at least one of the packing material making machines is to make the predetermined sequence of one or more packing materials in accordance with the machine instructions of the selected packing recipe and providing the packaging solution to a user through a user interface.
