Publication number: 20240264727Abstract: Devices, methods and graphical user interfaces for manipulating user interfaces based on fingerprint sensor inputs are provided. An electronic device with a display and a fingerprint sensor may obtain fingerprint-verification criteria for controlling verification of fingerprints. For each of a plurality of respective inputs that correspond to respective restricted operations, the device may identify fingerprint features of the respective input. The device may determine fingerprint-verification information for the respective input. In response to detecting the respective input and in accordance with a determination that the fingerprint-verification information meets respective authorization criteria for the respective restricted operation, the device may perform the respective restricted operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2024Publication date: August 8, 2024Inventors: Benjamin J. Patent number: 12044561Abstract: Methods and apparatuses associated with flow sensing devices are provided. An example flow sensing device includes a flow cap component and a sensor component. The flow cap component or sensor component may include a heating element. The flow cap component can at least partially define a flow channel configured for a media to flow therethrough. The heater element may be orthogonal or perpendicular to the flow channel. The sensor component may include at least one thermal sensing element disposed upstream of the heater element and at least one thermal sensing element disposed downstream of the heater element. The sensor component may include two or more thermal sensing elements disposed in either the upstream direction or downstream direction of the heater element. Thermal sensing elements may be spaced different distances from the heater element to increase the accuracy and precision of flow rate measurement at low flow rates.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2020Date of Patent: July 23, 2024Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Scott Edward Beck, Jamie W. Publication number: 20190210644Abstract: A vehicle includes a main body, a steerable wheel, a steering, a steering actuator, and an electronic controller. The main body includes a saddle. The steerable wheel is coupled to the main body via a suspension. The steering is turnably coupled to the main body to steer the steerable wheel. The steering actuator is configured to apply steering torque to the steerable wheel. The electronic controller is configured to control the steering torque using the steering actuator and configured to generate steering damper torque to the steerable wheel using the steering actuator upon determining a reduced contact of the steerable wheel with a traveling surface with respect to a first prescribed threshold.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 4, 2019Publication date: July 11, 2019Inventors: Toshifumi UCHIYAMA, Thomas P. Patent number: 7363715Abstract: A razor assembly is provided that includes a razor cartridge with one or more razor blades, a shaving aid body, a handle, and a linkage pivotally connected to the handle. The linkage is connected to the razor cartridge and the shaving aid body in a manner such that the razor cartridge and the shaving aid body are moveable relative to the handle. Movement of one of the razor cartridge or the shaving aid body in a first direction causes the other of the razor cartridge or the shaving aid body to move in a second direction substantially opposite the first direction. As a result, the positions of the shaving aid body and the razor cartridge are continuously adjusted to maintain the contact surface of the shaving aid body approximately co-planar with the cutting edges of the razor blades within the razor cartridge.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2006Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignee: Eveready Battery Company, IncInventors: David C. Coffin, Brian W. Foster

Patent number: 6499601Abstract: In a system for suspending, in a single operation, a plurality of product packages on a peg, each product package includes an upwardly extending mounting portion defining a shaped slot adapted to slidably receive the peg. The slot defines a peripheral edge for engaging the peg and suspending the product package therefrom. The system also includes a band of polymeric material that engages and at least partially surrounds the plurality of product packages, binding them together such that each shaped slot is approximately aligned with the next successive slot to allow said peg to be slidably threaded through each of the mounting portions. The band of polymeric material also includes a release portion, along which the band may be torn, thereby separating the band from the product packages to provide access to individual packages suspended from the peg.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2000Date of Patent: December 31, 2002Assignee: Warner-Lambert CompanyInventors: Brian W. Patent number: 6478159Abstract: A combination shipping and display container includes a unitary blank of material foldable into a substantially rectangular container for receiving one or more items packed therein. The container has a top wall, a bottom wall, a front wall, a rear wall and first and second side walls. The container has a line of continuous perforations extending across the rear wall, the first side wall, the front wall and the second side wall for dividing the container into a first or tear away top section and a second or bottom section. The perforations in the first and second side walls define curved slopes extending between the rear wall and the front wall. The top section may be torn away from the bottom section along the perforations formed in the container for converting the bottom section into a display container for displaying the one or more items, commonly referred to as primary packages, packed in the container.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2000Date of Patent: November 12, 2002Assignee: Warner-Lambert CompanyInventors: Thomas H. Taylor, David Dombrowski, Brian W. Foster, Peter A. M. Robberecht, Ramon Edward Stroink

Patent number: 5699909Abstract: A package for endoscopic surgical instruments includes a retainer member fabricated from a single sheet of flexible material. The retainer includes an arcuate portion forming a ridge extending laterally across the retainer. Apertures in the sloped sides of the arcuate portion are aligned for reception of the endoscopic portion of the surgical instrument, thereby securely holding the instrument. Distal and proximal upper flap portions fold over and interlock with each other to form the top of the retainer.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1996Date of Patent: December 23, 1997Assignee: United States Surgical CorporationInventor: Brian W.
