Abstract: A method of manufacturing an integrated light emitting diode display is provided. In one exemplary embodiment, the method includes the step of biologically forming a pn junction over a substrate, the pn junction capable of emitting a light having a predetermined color upon the application of energy thereto. In another exemplary embodiment, a method of manufacturing a light emitting diode is provided. The method includes depositing a biological material over the substrate, the biological material having an affinity for a pn junction material, and exposing the deposited biological material to the first pn junction material to form a doped area of a pn junction. In still another exemplary embodiment, a light emitting diode is provided. The light emitting diode includes a substrate and a biologically formed pn junction disposed over the substrate, wherein light having a predetermined color is emitted upon application of energy to the pn junction.

Abstract: A method for clearing and delivering digital rights management (DRM) licenses to websites and IP connected devices is disclosed. The method utilizes one or more Web services to receive one or more license requests from devices connected by IP Networks and generates, clears and delivers licenses containing license keys and rights or rules that govern the use of one or more digital media file or live broadcast. Use of a Web service unifies numerous complex steps and insures proper interface between otherwise potentially incompatible software and hardware modules which may be distributed at various remote locations. License clearing and delivery may then be performed seamlessly and transparently to a virtually unlimited number of devices connected by IP Networks.

Abstract: Providing resiliency to a multimedia application. A list of filters associated with the multimedia application is identified. It is determined if one or more filters of the identified list of filters are suitable for the multimedia application. The one or more filters are disabled if the one or more filters are determined to be unsuitable for the multimedia application. The one or more filters of the list of filters may also be presented to a user of the multimedia application as a function of suitability of each of the list of filters for the multimedia application. The user is allowed to manage the presented one or more filters.

Abstract: An electronic device is disclosed for controlling gas flow in a gas dryer such as a twin tower regenerative gas dryer. The device has a housing in which is mounted an electronic control circuit. At least two electrically operated valves (e.g. solenoid valves) for controlling functions of the dryer are provided with plugs or sockets and adapted to co-operate with corresponding sockets or plugs in a wall of the housing electrically connected to the electronic circuit. The valves are mounted on, externally of, the housing and are electrically connected to the control circuit.

Abstract: A foldable electric powered child riding vehicle includes a front module pivotally connected to a rear module. In a riding configuration, the modules are secured together in a stretched (i.e., deployed) position. An electric drive of the vehicle may be enabled only after the modules have been secured in the stretched position. In a storage/transportation configuration, the modules are disengaged and rotationally folded.

Abstract: A peptide factor, its analogs and methods of using such peptide factor derived from murine epidermal growth factor peptide is disclosed wherein the peptide factor is modified to protect it from proteolytic degradation and the peptide binds to laminin receptors.

Abstract: Storing image data for a menu in a compound image file. Image data for a menu of media files is retrieved and efficiently stored in the compound image file. A media player accesses the compound image file to obtain and display relevant images in a menu. The invention reduces the quantity of file operations needed to render the menu and thus reduces the time needed to display the menu as perceived by a user. As a result, the invention enhances the user experience with the media player.

Abstract: Updating automatically generated playlists in response to media content being edited. Aspects of the invention associate a playlist type or other code with each playlist to define the structure of the playlist. When media content is added to or deleted from a collection of media files, one or more playlist types corresponding to the media content are identified. The playlists with the identified playlist types are updated to reflect the addition or deletion of the media content.

Abstract: Enabling efficient navigation of a playlist of media files stored on a computer-readable medium. Aspects of the invention define a playlist structure to have one or more playlist units. Each playlist unit identifies one or more media files in the playlist and includes metadata for the media files. A consumer electronic device retrieves the playlist units and displays the metadata contained therein to a user to enable navigation of the playlist. Aspects of the invention reduce the memory requirements of the consumer electronic devices and reduce the quantity of disk seek operations needed for playlist navigation.

Abstract: A method for preparing carpet by using polyurethane to anneal secondary backing to a greige, comprising fibers attached to a primary backing. The polyurethane monomers are mixed just prior to application to the greige primary backing allowing the relatively low viscosity polyurethane to penetrate the fibers of the primary backing to aid in fiber lock. The polyurethane is puddle between two rollers that coat a layer of polyurethane onto the greige. The polyurethane coated greige is then contacted with the secondary backing before complete polymerization to insure sufficient tack to hold the backings together resulting in a durable carpet requiring a relatively low weight of polyurethane monomers.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for capture and distribution of audio and video media including digitalization, encryption and media management from live and archived audio and video sources. The method and apparatus utilizes a unified software application to employ digitalization, distribution, digital rights management, and encryption in real time based on digitalization, encryption and distribution rules. Use of a unified software application unifies numerous complex steps and insure proper interface between otherwise potentially incompatible software and hardware modules which are distributed at various remote locations. Capture and distribution of secure and validly purchased media may then be distributed to appropriate destinations for immediate use or storage subject to the rights granted by the digital rights management rules.

Abstract: An electronic dimming system for use in projection displays is provided. In a first embodiment, the dimming system comprises a first non-absorbing polarizer, a variable polarization rotator, a second non-absorbing polarizer and a heat absorber. The first non-absorbing polarizer receives light from a light source and passes the light of a selected polarization to the variable polarization rotator. The variable polarization rotator selectively rotates the polarization of the received light. The light passes from the variable polarization rotator to the second non-absorbing polarizer. The second non-absorbing polarizer passes only light of a second selected polarization. The light that passes the second non-absorbing polarizer is passed to the display, where it is used to illuminate the display. The system provides the ability to control the amount of light passed to the display by selectively rotating the polarization of the light with the variable polarization rotator.

The hot gas manifold vertical section is capped by a cap impeding water flow into the manifold. Also, the vertical section comprises a baffle impeding gas flow from the tower into the reservoir.

Abstract: A teargas deploying assembly includes an elongated tubular member having a first end and a second end. The first end is closed and has a pointed shape. The second end is open. A plurality of apertures extends into the tubular member and each is positioned generally adjacent to the first end. A canister receiving housing is fluidly coupled to the second end and extends away therefrom. A teargas canister may selectively be positioned into the housing. A male bracket is attached to the housing for removably mounting the housing to the female receiver such that the tubular member extends away from the vehicle. The first end of the tubular member may be extended through a wall such that teargas released from the canister may enter a dwelling bound by the wall.
