  • Publication number: 20070290538
Abstract: A chair has two independent body supports which move in similar rotation and inverse elevation to one another to change from a chair configuration, one support higher than the other, to a spine tensioning apparatus, supports near equal in elevation. Preferably body supports are spaced apart from one another such that the only interconnecting human link between the two supports, when in a near equal elevation configuration, is the human spine. The spine, in this configuration is then subjected to similar forces as a simple beam supported by two separate forces, tension, compression, shear and moment. The spine is aided by and through tension and compression and increased blood flow and afforded the ability for spinal muscle, nerve and soft tissue development and maintenance.

  • Patent number: 7272254
Abstract: A system and method for identifying flaws in a part being inspected includes generating a 3-d representation of the part, the 3-d representation comprising 3-d spatial coordinates corresponding to different locations on the part, and registering the 3-d spatial coordinates with corresponding locations of a part being inspected. An image of the part being inspected is generated, and a flaw in the part being inspected is identified from the generated image. A location of the flaw is correlated to a corresponding 3-d spatial coordinate, and a device is controlled to perform an operation on the part being inspected at the flaw location using information of the corresponding 3-d spatial coordinate.

  • Publication number: 20060025894
Abstract: A vehicle control system with user-guided calibration is presented. In one embodiment, a vehicle control system is presented comprising an output device and circuitry operative to provide an output, via the output device, that guides a user through a plurality of calibration steps in a particular order. The circuitry can additionally or alternatively be operative to determine which of the calibration steps, if any, to present as a next calibration step based on whether a given calibration step is successful. Other embodiments are provided, and each of the embodiments can be used alone or in combination with one another.

  • Publication number: 20040009449
Abstract: This invention describes a thin, substantially clear removable expansion appliance used in the field of orthodontics and dentistry. The removable expansion appliance comprises a polymeric tray with tooth receiving cavities intended to receive a patient's dentition and an expansion mechanism attached to the tray capable of producing forces perpendicular to the patient's palatal suture. Preferably, the tray has at least two lingually positioned protrusions. Each protrusion comprises a hole intended to receive a prong located at the end of a leg of the expansion mechanism. Alternatively, the prongs of the expansion mechanism are bonded to the tray with acrylic. The expansion mechanism either produces the desired expansion forces by compression of a length of wire when the appliance is placed on the patient's dentition, or by utilizing a screw for rigidly expanding the patient's arch.

  • Publication number: 20030207224
Abstract: This invention describes a thin, aesthetically improved polymeric removable bite-positioning appliance comprising two members. A first member is constructed for a patient's maxillary dental set and a second member is constructed for a patient's mandibular dental set. Both members have tooth-receiving surfaces comprising a plurality of tooth receiving cavities intended to receive the patient's teeth. Preferably, wedges descend past the occlusal plane of the maxillary appliance and are formed on both the patient's left and right hand side. Protrusions or wedges that do not extend past the occlusal plane of the mandibular appliance are formed on the patient's left and right hand side. The abutment of the wedges maintains the patient's lower jaw mesially in a more corrected bite position and prevents the patient from closing their mouth in the original, uncorrected bite position.

  • Patent number: 6285974
Abstract: One aspect of the invention relates to a method for detecting architectural violations in a multiprocessor computer system. In one version of the invention, the method includes the steps of generating a testcase instruction stream having a plurality of instructions, executable by the processors, which access a memory which is shared by the processors; detecting dependent instructions in the testcase instruction stream; and modifying the testcase instruction stream by inserting logging instructions in the testcase in the testcase instruction stream which cause data associated with observable instructions to be written to a logging memory by writing a first sequence of unique monotonically increasing values to the memory.
