  • Patent number: 10915372
Abstract: Systems described herein may allow for the intelligent configuration of containers onto virtualized resources. Different configurations may be generated based on the simulation of alternate placements of containers onto nodes, where the placement of a particular container onto a particular node may serve as a root for several branches which may themselves simulate the placement of additional containers on the node (in addition to the container(s) indicated in the root). Once a set of configurations are generated, a particular configuration may be selected according to determined selection parameters and/or intelligent selection techniques.

  • Publication number: 20200323700
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting determining a volume of urine in an absorbent article such as a diaper. A diaper loading application obtains a first measurement of ambient light received from a photodetector while a light source is off and a second measurement from the photodetector while the light source is transmitting light on an absorbent article. The application determines a normalized measurement of light reflected from an absorbent article by removing an ambient light signal from the second measurement based on the first measurement. The application determines, from the normalized measurement, a presence of urine in the absorbent article. The application further determines an estimated volume of urine in the absorbent article, wherein the determining is based on an elapsed time since the presence of urine and an activity state of an infant wearing the absorbent article.

  • Patent number: 10676177
Abstract: The present invention relates to robotic landing gear for a rotorcraft that is designed to allow for landing on sloped and irregular surfaces. The robotic landing gear consists of articulated legs with contact sensors. Once the contact sensor touches a landing surface, the articulated leg in which contact is detected retracts to maintain a certain amount of contact pressure with the surface. Each articulated leg does this independently until contact is detected on the sensors of all of the robotic legs, at which point the legs lock in position and the rotorcraft can safely land.

  • Publication number: 20190136305
Abstract: Methods are provided herein for identifying rare and/or unknown DNA sequences by next-generation sequencing approaches. Isolated double-stranded (ds), single-stranded (ss), or ds/ss DNA is fragmented and the fragments are polished, phosphorylated, and tailed, as necessary. Fragmentation can be enzymatic or mechanical. A universal adapter sequence is ligated to each fragment, wherein the adapter can have a top strand without a 5? phosphate, a 3? with an —H in place of the —OH, and/or a 3? extra base complementary to any base added to the polished fragments. The ligatamers may then serve as templates for ampli?cation using a forward primer complementary to the adapter sequence and a reverse primer targeted to the fragment sequence. Compositions produced by these methods and kits adapted for performing these methods are also described herein.
