  • Patent number: 12249185
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for using multiple inertial measurement units (IMUs) to recognize particular user activity, such as particular types of exercises and repetitions of such exercises. The IMUs may be located in consumer products, such as smartwatches and earbuds. Each IMU may include an accelerometer and a gyroscope, each with three axes of measurement, for a total of 12 raw measurement streams. A training image includes a plurality of subplots or tiles, each depicting a separate data stream. The training image is then used to train a machine learning model to recognize IMU data as corresponding to a particular type of exercise.

  • Patent number: 12250186
Abstract: A method and system for providing interoperability for Rich Communications Suite/Systems (RCS) messaging with RCS information sharing using plural channels. If a target network device includes RCS functionality then RCS sharing (i.e., sharing a RCS message with plural other target network devices) is done directly on a RCS channel (e.g., a primary channel) with other target network devices. If a target devices does not include RCS functionality, RCS functionality is provided via a secondary channel (e.g., a non-RCS channel, etc.) by an RCS interoperability application on a server network device to provide a RCS-emulated experience for RCS sharing for the other target network devices.

  • Patent number: 12249093
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and a method for geo-referencing an object on a floor. The method comprises receiving a camera frame providing view of a section of the floor, receiving a detailed floor plan of the floor, selecting a first area from the section of the floor in which the object needs to be tracked and defining a plurality of reference points. Herein, at least one of the pluralities of reference points is close to a mid-point along one of corresponding axes of the first area. The method further comprises mapping the plurality of reference points to the floor plan, processing the camera frame to determine if the object has been placed in the first area and geo-referencing the one or more object in the floor plan if the object is determined to be placed in the first area.

  • Patent number: 12249701
Abstract: A thermal storage device for batteries is provided. In some examples, the thermal storage device is provided for a battery pack that includes one or more rechargeable battery cells. In some examples, the lithium ion battery cells are used. The thermal storage device is in thermal contact with the battery cell. The thermal storage device is made of a material that absorbs heat that is given off by battery cells during discharge. In some examples, the thermal storage device is made of a plastic material. The material has a relatively low thermal conductivity but a relatively high specific heat capacity, allowing heat energy to be stored in the thermal storage device. The thermal storage device prevents the battery pack from overheating during use. The thermal storage device defines one or more cell receiving volumes. In some examples, an axially extending relief volume is provided.

  • Patent number: 12249944
Abstract: Apparatus and techniques for analyzing a capacitance value in an electric motor inverter are disclosed. A processor is coupled to a DC-AC inverter, which includes a capacitor across its terminals and is powered by a battery. The processor performs resistor switching to enable singular, periodic measurement of the capacitance. The measured value is compared with a nominal or beginning of life (BOL) value. An alert may be sent if the capacitance has degraded beyond a threshold. In other aspects, the DC torque ripple envelop is used to measure capacitance. The outcome is compared with the other tests to assess consistency. An inconsistent outcome may identify potential resistor degradation.

  • Patent number: 12250612
Abstract: A method of determining a physical location for an address. The method includes receiving from a first global positioning system on a vehicle a first set of global positioning data indicative of a vehicle location. The method may also receive from a second global positioning system on a portable electronic device a second set of global positioning data indicative of a portable electronic device location. The method may also receive a set of location metadata associated with a picture. The method determines a residence location from the first set of global positioning data, the second set of global positioning data, or the set of location metadata.
