  • Publication number: 20230011010
Abstract: The present disclosure provides component-containing extruded structures, which include various components entrapped within a base material matrix, and to products containing such component-containing extruded structures. The disclosure also includes a method for entrapping the components, including mixing the component or components with a base material in water, extruding the mixture, and removing at least a portion of the water therefrom. The resulting component-containing extruded structure can then be incorporated within various products, e.g., consumable products such as aerosol-generating devices and components, oral and smokeless products, and conventional smoking articles.

  • Publication number: 20220408826
Abstract: An aerosol delivery device and an aerosol source member for use with an inductive heating aerosol delivery device are provided. The aerosol delivery device comprises a control body having a housing, a resonant transmitter located in the control body, a control component configured to drive the resonant transmitter, and an aerosol source member that includes a substrate portion at least a portion of which is configured to be positioned within range of a field emitted by the resonant transmitter. The substrate portion may include a substrate material and one or more separators, the one or more separators may be configured to separate the substrate material into a plurality of separate substrate segments, and the one or more separators may comprise susceptors configured to be heated by the resonant transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20220232881
Abstract: Alternative methods for sealing pouch materials, for example, using radio frequency (RF) sealing techniques, and oral pouched products formed according to those methods are provided. Some pouched products may include an outer water-permeable pouch defining a cavity having a composition situated in the cavity, wherein the outer water-permeable pouch comprises a fleece material, the fleece material comprising a plurality of fibers and an RF sealable material. In some embodiments, methods of RF sealing pouch materials may include providing one or more fleece materials having a RF sealable material and sealing the one or more fleece materials using radio frequency energy to form a RF sealed pouched product.
