  • Patent number: 5588476
Abstract: A removable window shade is secured adjacent a roll down vehicular window along the top edge by a pair of suction cups. At least one suction cup detachably secures the lower folded edge of the window shade to the window. The lower suction cup includes a pressure relief mechanism to permit facile detachment and reattachment between the suction cup and the window to permit displacement of the lower part of the window shade from the window prior to rolling down the window.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 19, 1994
Date of Patent: December 31, 1996

  • Patent number: 5548871
Abstract: Opposed ends of a bundling strap are inserted through an anchor and folded back upon respective segments of the strap. Pressure sensitive adhering elements having high shear strength and low tensile strength retain the strap ends adjacent the respective segments of the strap.

  • Patent number: 5511752
Abstract: A cap, mounted upon the stem of a suction cup, is axially repositionable by axial and/or tilting movement relative to the stem to selectively close or open fluid communication between the concave space defined by the cup element of the suction cup and the ambient environment.

  • Patent number: 5441095
Abstract: A detachably mounted screen for vehicular windshields and the like protects the windshield against an accumulation of snow, ice, or frost and permits removal of any snow, ice or frost by detaching the screen from the windshield. The screen also protects against the damaging effects of hail, wind driven sand or other particulate matter and may serve as a shield against or filter for solar, ultraviolet or other impinging radiation. Adhesively attached posts are secured proximate the perimeter of the windshield for snap fit engagement by a socket supporting a lever. A cap retains a segment of the screen upon the socket. Upon securing each socket to its respective post, the screen is attached adjacent the windshield and by manipulating each lever, the attendant socket is releasable from its respective post to permit detachment of the screen.

  • Patent number: 5405112
Abstract: A suction cup, having a centrally located boss for penetrably engaging an aperture in a sheet of material, has a cap mounted upon the boss to retain the sheet of material in place. A lever extends from the cap and supports one end of a strap, which strap has its other end in engagement with and extending from the perimeter of the suction cup. Upon pivotal movement of the lever and commensurate bending of the edge of the suction cup, the vacuum maintained by the suction cup adjacent to a supporting surface is relieved.

  • Patent number: 5240305
Abstract: A suspension system for a covering accommodates movement of the covering in response to wind forces and urges return of the covering to its initial mounted position about the object covered. The suspension system at each of opposed ends of the covering includes a bar having one end detachably attached to a first anchor point on the object to be covered. An elastic element extending from the one end of the bar is attached to the covering to accommodate displacement of the covering relative to the first anchor point. An elastic element extends from the other end of the bar to a second anchor point on the object to be covered to accommodate different spacings between the points of attachment. The elastic element extending from the second point is attached to the covering to accommodate displacement of the covering relative to the second point.
