  • Publication number: 20200100654
Abstract: A minimal invasive medical device comprises a reusable portion and a disposable portion connectable by a mechanism. The medical device further includes an actuation unit positioned in the reusable portion. The actuation unit is configured to deflect a tip of the disposable portion. The actuation unit is operable by at least one of a knob and an actuator to deflect the tip of the disposable portion. The configuration of the medical device enables in detaching the disposable portion from the reusable portion, which enables in reusing the medical device by replacing only the disposable portion, which facilitates in ensuring high hygiene and yet minimizing the surgical costs. Also, the medical device provides flexibility in repairing and serviceability.

  • Publication number: 20180185093
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a ureteroscope and a method for dusting stones in a body cavity with a laser fiber. The ureteroscope includes a flexible probe and a handle. The flexible probe includes a working channel that accommodates the laser fiber in a distal end of the flexible probe at a working position to be deflected against a target stone for dusting. The handle includes a plurality of control switches and a laser fiber feeder and retraction module. The control switches are configured to provide digital control signals to control a motor assisted movement of the laser fiber in the working channel. The motor assisted movement of the laser fiber includes one of a feeding movement and a retracting movement. The laser fiber feeder and retraction module is configured to control one of the feeding movement and the retracting movement of the laser fiber in the working channel.

  • Publication number: 20180147014
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a ureteroscope and a method for dusting stones in a body cavity. The ureteroscope includes a flexible probe and a handle. The flexible probe includes a working channel and a deflecting tip. The working channel accommodates a laser fiber in a distal end of the flexible probe to be deflected against a target stone for dusting. The deflecting tip at the distal end of the flexible probe is configured to be deflected and in turn deflect the laser fiber. The handle includes a plurality of selection switches and a deflection control module. The selection switches are configured to provide digital dusting signals corresponding to selection of a dusting amplitude and a dusting frequency of the deflecting tip by a user. The deflection control module is configured to control a motor assisted movement of the deflecting tip in response to the digital dusting signals.
