  • Patent number: 11571325
Abstract: A faceplate assembly for an ostomy pouch system including an invertible stoma collar is provided. The invertible stoma collar protrudes toward a stoma and defines an inlet opening. The invertible stoma collar is formed from a flexible material having an elastic memory, such that the stoma collar hugs the stoma as the stoma is received through the inlet opening, and becomes inverted. The inverted stoma collar has a tendency to regain its original shape, and thus, applies sufficient pressure to seal around the stoma without strangulating the stoma.

Date of Patent: February 7, 2023
    Assignee: Hollister Incorporated
Inventors: Seamus T. Kavanagh, Brock E. Masters, Mark W. Jockel, Christina Augustyn, Ronald S. Botten, Zubair A. Khan
  • Patent number: 11234856
Abstract: An ostomy belt system includes an ostomy belt having a strip of material and a belt coupling element, and an ostomy pouch having and outer wall defining an inner volume, and a pouch coupling section configured for releasable engagement with the belt coupling element. One or both of the belt coupling element and the pouch coupling section is configured to bend or flex at a predetermined location.

  • Patent number: 10512562
Abstract: A faceplate assembly (14) for an ostomy pouch system (10) including an invertible stoma collar (38) is provided. The invertible stoma collar protrudes toward a stoma and defines an inlet opening. The invertible stoma collar is formed from a flexible material having an elastic memory, such that the stoma collar hugs the stoma as the stoma is received through the inlet opening, and becomes inverted. • Patent number: 8672908
Abstract: A convex barrier ring, that includes a generally oval shaped body and tapered peripheral end portions, is provided. In use, the convex barrier ring is sealed against peristomal skin surfaces such that the tapered peripheral end portions are aligned with folds or creases in the skin surfaces to reduce leakage of stomal effluent. The convex barrier can also have an oval stoma-receiving aperture to provide an improved fit for oval or loop stomas.

  • Publication number: 20130253455
Abstract: An expandable ostomy pouch and an expandable ostomy cap include a first portion and a second portion sharing a common cavity. The first portion and the second portion are configured such that the second portion can be inverted and inserted within the first portion in a compacted state. The second portion can be manually pulled out or can be expanded due to gravity and/or due to elevated pressure within the pouch 10 due to the stomal discharge, as the cavity is filled with stomal discharge.
