    Abstract: A cover for protecting a microphone includes a shield and coupling member. The coupling member is tubular with an inner surface slightly larger than the housing portion of the microphone. The shield is tubular and large enough to protect the microphone portion of the microphone assembly without interference. The shield includes one end having a threaded inner surface for coupling to the threaded outer surface of the coupling member. The threaded portion of the coupling member includes longitudinal slots for forming resilient fingers. The shield threaded surface is tapered so that the fingers wedge against the handle when the coupling member is tightened to the shield.
