  • Publication number: 20080023477
Abstract: A push button, flip top closure for a container, includes a base portion, a push button actuator situated on the base portion and twistingly mounted thereon to pivotally rotate with respect to the base portion, a central cap having an orifice formed through the thickness thereof, the push button actuator at least partially surrounding the central cap, and a lid hingedly mounted to the base portion and positionable between at least a closed position to cover the orifice formed in the central cap and an open position to uncover the orifice formed in the central cap. The push button actuator selectively forces the lid to pivot to the open position to allow the contents of the container on which the closure is mounted to pass through the orifice in the central cap.

  • Publication number: 20060208009
Abstract: A cap dispenses material from a container having a mouth. The cap has a main body mountable on the mouth. The main body includes a protruding portion having an opening for receiving material moving through the mouth. A combination seal and dispensing spout is pivotally mounted to the main body and has a top wall with an extended portion. The spout may be pivoted on the main body between a sealing position and a dispensing position. In the sealing position, the spout blocks flow of material through the opening. In the dispensing position, the spout is aligned with the opening in the protruding portion to allow material to flow through the protruding portion and onto the spout so that the material may be dispensed.

  • Publication number: 20060124643
Abstract: A dispensing cover for use with a fiberboard drum having a rolled-in lip which defines a cover-receiving opening includes a main body having a first portion and a second portion which is pivotal with respect to the first portion and which is joined thereto using a living hinge. An inner and outer skirt extends about the periphery of the main body, which skirts are spaced apart from each other to define therebetween a cavity for receiving the rolled-in lip of the fiberboard drum. Molded into the outer skirt at the living hinge is a tear strip. Unless removed, the tear strip prevents the second portion from pivoting with respect to the first portion. Barbs formed on the inner or outer skirts and extending into the cavity defined between them engage the rolled-in lip of the fiberboard drum to secure the dispensing cover to the fiberboard drum at least over the non-pivoting first portion.

  • Patent number: 5255823
Abstract: An actuator having an actuator body and a cap that can be raised or retracted is disclosed. The cap has an aperture sized to fit around the body. In the raised position, the actuator fits into the aperture and the body upper end is shaped to conform with the upper surface of the cap. This encloses the nozzle and provides a smooth upper surface when the cap is raised. When the cap is retracted, the body extends upwardly through the aperture so that it may be pushed on to dispense a liquid from the container on which the actuator is mounted.
