  • Patent number: 4109932
Abstract: A ski binding of the toe binding type having a clamping bail. The binding is intended for cooperation with a ski boot, the sole of which has edges converging in a forward direction but no laterally protruding sole rim. Instead, the boot sole has an extension in front of the upper engaged laterally by converging toe iron lugs carried by a toe iron base plate. The clamping bail is slidably mounted in slots in the toe iron lugs in a position forward of the upper and extend forwardly outside of the lugs. The forward end of the bail is mounted in a tensioning lever of the toggle type mounted forward of the toe iron lugs.

  • Patent number: 3977347
Abstract: In a boat of the "planing" or "semiplaning" type and in which the rear portion of the bottom is substantially straight in the longitudinal direction and tapers rearwardly, the side faces of the hull are formed with rearwardly facing steps crossing the highest waterline and placed substantially at or behind the point of maximum bottom width, so as to cause ventilation of the rearwardly converging side faces at speeds below planing speed. This substantially eliminates the resistance caused by suction on said faces and permits the bottom to be given a pronounced rearward taper with a width of the bottom at the stern less than 70% of maximum width, with consequent improved performance at low speeds. To minimize flow disturbance the steps taper towards both ends and extend upwards and forwards with decreasing inclination.

  • Patent number: 3933364
Abstract: In a ski pole having a tubular rod it is proposed to make up the rod of a central metal tube and end portions of plastic having lower module of elasticity, heat conductivity and density. The metal rod terminates short of the disc and of the handle. The upper end portion is hollow and expands upward so as to form a hollow handle receiving the ends of the hand strap, one of which ends is adjustable. The lower end portion, which likewise is hollow, is shaped with abutments for the disc boss and is narrowed at the bottom so as to receive the spike.
