    Abstract: There is provided a composition which vulcanizes at room temperature on exposure to moisture comprising a product resulting from mixing:(A) an organopolysiloxane consisting essentially of repeating R.sub.2 SiO units, where R is a C.sub.(1-13) monovalent substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical;(B) an effective amount of condensation catalyst, and(C) an effective amount of self-bonding agent of the general formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is a C.sub.(1-7) monovalent hydrocarbon radical, R.sup.2 is a C.sub.(1-4) alkyl radical, C.sub.(1-4) acyl radical or a radical of the formula --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n R.sup.4, where n is 1 or 2 and R.sup.4 is a C.sub.(1-4) alkyl radical, R.sup.3 is a C.sub.(1-18) divalent hydrocarbon radical free of aliphatic unsaturation attached to a nitrogen atom of the urea nucleus through a non-aromatic carbon atom, Z is hydrogen or a C.sub.(1-4) alkyl radical and y equals 0 or 1.

    Abstract: There is provided a flame retardant composition comprising:(a) about 50 to about 90 percent by weight of one or more nylon materials, and(b) about 10 to about 50 percent by weight of a composition effective for imparting flame resistance comprising:(i) about 20 to about 75 percent by weight based on (b) of diphenylsilanediol, low molecular weight phenyl substituted siloxane diol, or mixture thereof;(ii) about 3 to about 30 percent by weight based on (b) of Group IIA metal carboxylic acid salt;(iii) about 10 to about 60 percent by weight based on (b) of aluminum trihydrate; and(iv) about 10 to about 50 percent by weight based on (b) of organic halide.

Also provided are organopolysiloxane protective coating compositions containing said ultraviolet light absorbing agents having unique utility for protecting transparent plastic articles.This invention relates to new, improved ultraviolet light absorbing agents, as well as to articles primed and thereafter coated with compositions containing such agents. The novel compounds of this invention are silanolreactive alkoxysilyl- or alkanoyloxysilylalkyl ether adducts of aromatic ultraviolet absorbing agents.

    Abstract: Platinum complexes of unsaturated siloxanes, substantially free of inhibitory compounds, provide superior hydrosilation catalysts when produced by heating a platinum compound with an unsaturated siloxane of the formula(CH.sub.2 .dbd.CH)((R).sub.2 Si).sub.2 O,wherein R is free of aliphatic unsaturation and is selected from alkyl, cycloalkyl, and aryl groups, the amount of siloxane being selected to provide not less than about 0.01 gram atom of platinum per mole of vinyl content, and a platinum content of not less than about 2 percent by weight in the catalyst. Curable silicone compositions containing such catalysts are also provided.

    Abstract: A process for the purification of hydrogen-containing silanes and siloxanes containing no phenyl substituent groups comprising contacting the silanes and siloxanes with an adsorbent bed formed from material selected from charcoal and molecular sieves and removing the purified silanes and siloxanes from the adsorbent bed. Through this procedure all the impurities which would poison the platinum catalyst are removed and as such the hydrosilanes and siloxanes will undergo SiH-olefin platinum-catalyzed reactions instantly and without difficulty.
