  • Patent number: 6356564
Abstract: A method of assigning effective bandwidth to a physical or logical link for propagating multiple virtual paths through a switched digital communications network is described. Switching nodes within the network have more than one interconnecting link in order to provide redundancy in the event of link failure. The effective bandwidth is assigned to each link according to dual multipliers or booking factors. The first booking factor is used for provisioning the link on set up and the second booking factor is for re-routing in the event of link failure.

  • Patent number: 6303708
Abstract: A composition is provided which comprises a functionalized poly(phenylene ether) resin, poly(arylene sulfide) resin, epoxy functional alpha-olefin elastomer, elastomeric block copolymer, and a metal salt. The composition is preferably prepared by premixing a poly(phenylene ether) resin with an organic acid and a vinyl aromatic-diene block copolymer to form a premix, and then compounding the premix with an epoxy functional alpha-olefin elastomer, a poly(arylene sulfide) resin and a metal salt of an organic acid. The composition has enhanced levels of mechanical properties such as impact strength, and is suitable for making molded articles such as vertical automotive body panels.

  • Patent number: 6212169
Abstract: A method of determining whether a requested parameter reconfiguration of a connected call in a switched digital communication network complies with system constraints is described. Bandwidth related parameters, in particular, are subject to reconfiguration after a call is provisioned in order to optimize utilization of network resources. The implementation of a bandwidth reconfiguration involves an assessment of bandwidth utilization by the logical or physical links routing the connected call so that the reconfigured bandwidth does not negatively impact on the connected call. Once the reconfigured parameter is determined to be acceptable the reconfiguration data is propagated to the relevant network elements.

  • Patent number: 5627959
Abstract: The present invention provides the capability to use customized procedures to manipulate and control objects in graphic implementations. It provides externalizes much of the underlying object manipulation functionality. A customized procedure is executed at various "trigger" points including: the expiration of a specified period of time; the opening or closing of a window; or, when input from a mouse input device is received. There are several different types of mouse events: mouse button down; mouse move with button down; mouse move with no button down; and mouse button up. A graphic object associated with a customized procedure that is triggered by a mouse event is called a "button object." The customized procedure associated with a button object has four parameters: buttonobj, hitobj, win, and eventinfo. The buttonobj parameter refers to the graphic object having a button procedure that is currently being executed.
