  • Publication number: 20180000369
Abstract: A method is described for extracting aperiodic components from a time-series wave data set for diagnosis purposes. The method may include collecting time-series wave data within a controlled environment were a plurality of contrasting conditions can be used in collecting the time-series wave data set. Aperiodic components can be extracted from the time-series wave data set and the aperiodic components can then be fitted to the plurality of contrasting conditions of the controlled environment to product regressed aperiodic components from which diagnostic determination can be made.

  • Publication number: 20080069304
Abstract: A radiography apparatus having an x-ray source, an x-ray imaging detector, and a support structure coupling the source and the x-ray detector and rotatable about a predetermined axis for positioning about a subject. The apparatus includes a first operator control console with a first command entry device for entry of operator setup instructions and a first display. A second operator control console is spaced apart from the first operator control console and has a second command entry device for entry of operator setup instructions and a second display. A control logic processor is responsive to the operator setup instructions for controlling operation of the radiography apparatus. At least some of the operator setup instructions entered at the first command entry device and operator setup instructions entered at the second command entry device are the same.

  • Patent number: 7092083
Abstract: An apparatus for presenting a sample of material for analysis by a laser-based analyzer comprises a chamber, a first window for admitting laser radiation to the chamber, sample presentation means for presenting a sample such that said laser radiation can impinge upon the sample, and a plurality of second windows (76,78,80,82) for receiving radiation emitted from the sample, said plurality of second windows (76,78, 80,82) adapted to pass radiation emitted from the sample to a plurality of detector means. The apparatus further includes a gas inlet (98) and a gas outlet (100) to enable the atmosphere inside the chamber (52) to be controlled.

  • Patent number: 6771368
Abstract: An apparatus for analyzing material, such as coal, comprises subjecting the coal (14) to laser light The laser light is used to vaporize and ionize a small amount of the coal to produce spectral emissions. A plurality of detection, (26, 30, 34) each of which detect a part of the spectrum of the spectrum emissions, collect spectral information and pass it to data collection means (38, 40, 42). The data is then analyzed to determine the presence and/or amount of one or more elements or species in the coal. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus, has a plurality of data collection means (26, 30, 34), with each of the plurality of detection means being associated with a respective data collection means (38, 40, 42). The apparatus provides rapid and accurate analysis of the coal. The apparatus may be used to analyze coal on conveyor belt or coal in a seam in the ground.

  • Publication number: 20030112234
Abstract: A Statistical Comparator Interface provides a user with the capability to reduce vast amounts of raw data into a readily navigable and quickly comprehendible form. The Statistical Comparator Interface is embodied in two basic stages. In a data compilation stage, a compilation module, which is preferably implemented with computer software, receives the raw data and compiles the raw data into a format that is readily navigable by a navigation engine. This may include expanding the data through statistical computations and arranging the data in a data matrix complete with hierarchal indices. In a navigation stage, the navigation engine is employed to allow a user to generate data profiles from among the formatted data, including selecting a peer group with selected characteristics and selecting statistical comparisons to be calculated and displayed for the selected peer group.

  • Patent number: 6568077
Abstract: Damage in a blisk airfoil is machined away to create a notch. A repair is welded in the airfoil to fill the notch. The weld repair is then machined to restore the airfoil to a substantially original, pre-damaged configuration at the repair.
