Abstract: Methods for forming and using an educational kit are disclosed. The kit may be useful as an educational tool or toy for the exploration of mathematical concepts such as multiplication, exponents, and logarithms. Such a kit may include a set of at least three masses, each mass having a numerical label, wherein a first mass has a first numerical label and a first weight, a second mass has a second numerical label and a second weight, a third mass has a third numerical label and a third weight, a sum of the first weight and the second weight equals the third weight, and the first numerical label multiplied by the second numerical label equals the third numerical label.
