  • Patent number: 5737829
Abstract: A terminal insertion machine (10) is disclosed that automatically actuates the insertion head (14) when the lower tooling (24) senses that the circuit board (26) is in proper alignment for receiving the tabs (166, 168) of the terminal (20). The lower tooling (24) includes a locating member (82) that senses the presents of two spaced holes (156, 158) in the circuit board (26) that are to receive tabs of the terminal and a rod (138) that senses the presence of the portion (162) of the circuit board (126) between the two holes (156, 158). A controller responds to a signal that the portion (162) of the circuit board is present and concurrently, that both holes (156, 158) are properly positioned. Upon receiving this signal the controller automatically actuates the insertion head (14) to insert the terminal 20 into the circuit board (26).

  • Patent number: 4075636
Abstract: A dot matrix printer apparatus has a magnetic ink jet recording head which projects a continuous stream of ferro-fluid ink drops toward a print medium. The ink drops are rastered in the direction orthogonal to the direction of relative motion of the recording head and the print medium to form characters from columns of dots. The slant of the characters caused by the change in direction of relative motion is controlled by reversing the direction or sequence of rastering of ink drops when the direction of printing reverses.

  • Patent number: 4048639
Abstract: Method of improving mark alignment by causing substantially simultaneous impact on a recording medium of drops issuing as a series from an ink jet nozzle moving relative to the recording medium, by successively decreasing the deflection of each drop in the series and positioning the nozzle with respect to the recording surface to alter the respective path lengths of the drops such that the first and last drops of the series reach the recording member at approximately the same time.

  • Patent number: 4027309
Abstract: An ink jet printer apparatus and method using ink carrying magnetizable particles, the ink being passed as a stream of droplets sequentially through an electromagnetic field and an electrostatic field, in that order. The droplets are selectively charged electrostatically. All drops are subjected to a time dependent magnetic flux field which effects scans of the drops at a recording surface. Drops not to be used are deflected by electrostatic deflection plates to a gutter.
