  • Patent number: 8060954
Abstract: The invention relates to a toilet flush actuator mechanism for a toilet tank which has a discharge port surrounded by a valve seat having a central axis, a ball-cock type valve, and a flush valve having a vertical axis. The actuator mechanism consists of a trip lever pivotally mounted to the toilet tank and having a free end over which a boot member is telescopically and captively held. First and second resilient guide members extend laterally from the boot member adjacent the free end, and are parallel, coplanar, and separated by a fixed distance. A linkage member is captively carried in fixed relationship with the upper end of the flush valve and has an open void region through which the free end extends.

  • Patent number: 6766825
Abstract: A ballcock valve with a valve body mounted on a tubular riser with a valve seat which passes water from the riser. The valve body includes a base and a removable cap which enclose valve workings. A screen body passed through the valve seat has a central passage and openings to the passage that exclude particulate solids. A flow control is fitted to the screen body. The combined screen body and flow control is upstream from the valve seat. Preferably a retainer releasably holds the screen body against axial movement when installed.

  • Patent number: 6675398
Abstract: A diverter valve for selectively passing water from a ballcock valve directly to a water storage tank or to the rim of a toilet. It includes a diverter plunger which places a deflector into the path of water from the ballcock, and a float which removes the deflector from the lumen when the ballcock valve is closed and the water level is sufficiently high, and lowers the plunger when the water level is sufficiently low.

  • Patent number: 6244292
Abstract: A ballcock valve with a cap having an opening, and in the opening an axial groove. A valve control has a neck that fits in the opening, and a tooth that fits in the groove, so that when a shoulder on the cap and on the valve control abut, the valve control can be rotated to hold it to the cap. When the cap is fixed to a base, a control diaphragm is properly positioned relative to the base and to a valve seat on the base.

  • Patent number: 6192916
Abstract: A ballcock type flow-limiting valve for refilling a water tank and commode. A vertical riser has an internal inlet water passage connected to the valve base which has a recess surrounding the inlet seat forming a lower discharge chamber. A removable, dome shaped cap is secured to the valve base, overlaying the recessed area and forming an upper flow chamber. A vertical, free floating piston that controls inlet water flow and shut off is mounted slidingly through a central boss in the cap top and is actuated by an external pivoted arm. The piston and the lower discharge chamber incorporate features designed to limit water inlet flow to the discharge chambers and also to prevent accidental excessive movement of the piston. Provision is included to allow for possible valve blockages due to part swelling or water debris, and to ensure water flow access to the discharge passages for refill. The piston is accessible for servicing or removal by easy removal of the cap.

  • Patent number: 5608924
Abstract: A consistent-delivery flush and fill system for a water tank. A vertically movable post with a central passage carries a valve plug to open and close a valve seat for a discharge port from the tank. Buoyancy means on the post respond to the water level in the tank. A tank valve supplies water to the tank. When the tank is full the tank valve is closed. Engagement means on the post prevents the tank valve from opening until the tank is substantially emptied, at which time the valve plug closes the discharge port and enables the tank valve to open, having delivered a substantially constant volume of water from flush-to-flush.

  • Patent number: 5318062
Abstract: A tank valve for refilling a water tank. A vertical riser has a passage opening through a valve seat in a body. A flow chamber and a discharge chamber are formed around the valve seat. A cap is secured to the body so as to overlay the chambers. The cap has a central socket opening, a plurality of laterally-spaced anit-siphon ports, and a contact surface. The anti-siphon ports open onto the contact surface. A valve control device has a rigid case with a neck and an engaging shoulder. An anti-siphon disc has a hole through which the neck is passed. The neck is inserted in the socket opening and the engaging shoulder presses the disc against the cap. A bias chamber is formed in the case. A retainer is secured to the case. It includes a retaining shoulder which holds a flexible diaphragm to close the bias chamber. The diaphragm has a bias port therethrough. A level controlled valve opens and closes a vent port in the neck.

  • Patent number: 5230103
Abstract: A commode flush valve for providing short and adjustable flush cycles. The flush valve includes a valve seat around the upper end of a discharge pipe for a tank, and a body pivoted to it. The body has a peripheral valve seal to bear against the valve seat to close the flush valve. A cup beneath the valve seal has a perforation near its top for exit of air, and an opening at its bottom to enable water to flow therethrough. A removable insert is fitted in this opening with an orifice sized to regulate the rate of flow water therethrough, and perforations to enable substantially all water to drain from the cup where the valve seal rests on the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 5150732
Abstract: A tank valve for maintaining a water lever storage level in a tank. The tank valve includes differential pressure valve workings under control of a pivot member. A float enables the valve to open when resting on the pivot member and opens the valve when it rises free of the pivot member. A boost link depends from the pivot member to be boosted by the float near the end of its upward travel to assure closure of the valve working when an intended water level has be attained.

  • Patent number: 5035257
Abstract: A toilet tank valve having a vertical riser with a collet thread and a plurality of flexible collet fingers. A slider tube is fitted into the riser. It has a plurality of peripheral grooves that can be engaged by the fingers to adjust the elevation of the slider tube. A collet nut threaded to the riser compresses the finger for this purpose. Valve workings are mounted to the slider tube. They include an inverted cup float slidingly fitted around the riser which can engage splines on the collet nut so that rotating the float can turn the collet nut, enabling the slider tube's elevation to be adjusted and its adjustment retained.

  • Patent number: 5007452
Abstract: A tank valve for refilling a toilet tank and simultaneously supplying water to a toilet bowl has a riser, a valve mounted to the riser, a valving chamber in the body of the valve, and a downwardly directed outlet port from the valving chamber. A cuff surrounds the riser. It has a bottom with an aperture to pass the riser, and a peripheral sidewall extending upwardly from the bottom with an upper edge spaced from the body through which water from the outlet port into the cuff flows into the toilet tank. A fill port through the cuff leads by way of a hose to supply water to refill the toilet tank bowl.

  • Patent number: 4965891
Abstract: A tank valve for a toilet tank is controlled by an axially vertically movable float. A releasable latch holds the float in an upper position which closes the tank valve to flow, and prevents opening of the valve to flow except when an intended mechanical flush operation is made. This prevents refill of the tank to replace water which has leaked out, rather than being released for the flushing operation.
