    Abstract: The invention is a pharmaceutical composition comprising a carboxyalkylether which lowers triglycerides and LDL and elevates HDL, and an ACAT inhibitor which improves dyslipidemias in mammals, said composition being useful for treating dyslipidemia and ischemic syndromes, and for preventing or delaying the onset of heart attacks. The carboxyalkylethers have the formula wherein Y1 and Y2 include COOH, R1, R2, R3, and R4 can be alkyl, and n and m are integers from 2 to 9; and the ACAT inhibitors have the formula where R is hydrogen, X is O, R1 and R2 are substituted phenyl, and Y is alkylene.
