Abstract: In one aspect, an example method can be used with a camera assembly comprising a movable component, a triggering mechanism, and a microphone. The method includes causing the triggering mechanism to attempt to move the movable component; proximate a time point of the attempt to move the movable component, capturing, via the microphone, audio data; determining whether the captured audio data satisfies a condition; and in response to determining whether the captured audio data satisfies the condition, performing an action related to the moveable component and/or the triggering mechanism.

Abstract: A system is described and includes a power source for generating alternating current (AC) power; a doorbell device connected to the power source, wherein the doorbell device comprises a camera and a pushbutton; a chime controller connected to the power source and to the doorbell device, the chime controller configured to activate a chime in response to depression of the pushbutton, the chime controller including a rechargeable battery for powering the chime; and circuitry configured to provide a first portion of the AC power generated by the power source to the doorbell device, the first portion sufficient for powering the camera, and a second portion of the power from the power source to the chime controller, the second portion sufficient for charging the battery.

Abstract: An apparatus for scarfing a fibrous web includes a rotatable scarfing roll with vacuum ports and an air moving source in fluid communication with the vacuum ports. The rotatable scarfing roll has a core member which includes a plurality of scarfing elements connected thereto and vacuum ports located therein. A method for scarfing a fibrous web includes providing a rotatable scarfing roll with vacuum ports and reducing scarfing wind by applying vacuum to the vacuum ports. A method for producing absorbent articles includes providing a fibrous web, contacting the fibrous web with a rotatable scarfing roll with vacuum ports to remove a portion of the fibrous web, applying vacuum to the vacuum ports to reduce scarfing wind, and producing an absorbent article with the fibrous web.

Abstract: Provided herein are several exemplary embodiments of a system and method for distributing content via a network. In particular, copies of the digital content are modified to permit the incorporation of additional content, such as advertising. Because the content is copied broadly, this invention facilitates the dissemination of this additional content to many consumers. In one embodiment, advertising is incorporated into a song stored in, for example, a MP3 format. As the songs are distributed using methods that may include, but is not limited to, sharing compact discs, sharing of digital files via direct transfer (disc to disc), sharing over Peer-to-Peer networks or distribution via Internet websites or portals, the advertising is also distributed and reaches a very broad consumer base.

Abstract: A comprehensive system for providing hosted service for insurance company reporting and data analysis is disclosed. Using the power of an open computer network such as the internet, the system facilitates the data entry, recording, storage, reporting, and analysis of the information that insurance companies must provide to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), and to the states where those companies are licensed to do business.
