  • Publication number: 20070272679
Abstract: A tube shaped and fluid inflatable and electrically heatable in-situ pipe repair device comprising a first outer elastomeric tube layer and a resistive heating component comprised of electrically conductive fibers braided over an elastomeric core. The tube shaped device also contains an inner annulus. The device is fluid sealable and is connectible to a fluid supply and vacuum source. It is also connectible to an electrical power source. The device may also comprise two tube shaped layers configured to fit snuggly together with a resistive heating component held between the two layers. The resistive heating component may be a braided fiber-elastomeric core combination or a conductive fiber configured in a sinusoidal wave or similar pattern.

  • Patent number: 6627019
Abstract: A ceramic matrix composite part having elongated cooling channels within the wall thereof is manufactured by inserting decomposable inserts within a woven ceramic fiber preform. The inserts are tows of continuous carbon fibers surrounded by a carbonaceous filler, and are inserted where the channels are desired. The preform, with the inserts in place, is disposed within a mold. A ceramic matrix material is added and the fiber preform is consolidated with the ceramic matrix material. The consolidated part is then heated to thermally decompose the inserts to create the elongated channels within the part. The inserts may be flexible and woven into the preform using an automated weaving loom, or they may have limited flexibility and be inserted by machine or by hand.

  • Patent number: 6039473
Abstract: A tamper evident file holder especially suited for use in containing hanging files in a file cabinet drawer. The file holder is normally a full enclosure pouch configured for holding a plurality of files with one access portal such as a zippered closure or the like. In the preferred embodiment disclosed herein, the enclosure is made of a heavy fabric such as leather, vinyl, canvas, nylon or other tear resistant material. The zipper is locked in the closed position by a locking device comprising a disposable element in the form of a plug and stem which must be fractured to permit unlocking the locking device to open the zipper and gain access to the interior of the pouch. By coding each disposable element with a unique and indelible code, one can readily ascertain that the zipper has been unlocked to permit access to the files within the pouch. The pouch is preferably configured with hanger rods to permit hanging the file holder on a standard pair of file cabinet drawer rails.
