  • Patent number: 9734191
Abstract: Embodiments of methods for asynchronous image repository functionality are presented. In an embodiment, a method includes storing user data in a data storage device that is local to a user interface device, storing a copy of the user data to a storage location that is remote from the user interface device, performing a service for a user of the user interface device using the copy of the user data stored to the storage location, and communicating information associated with the service back to the user interface device. Additionally, the data image may be directly scanned for malicious software. In a further embodiment, the method may include providing a software inventory associated with the user data, such as software, stored in the image.

  • Publication number: 20130127916
Abstract: Various embodiments of methods and apparatus for adaptive content display are disclosed. A graphical content data structure comprising a plurality of frames for display in a display area is received. An indication of a value of a current dimension of the display area is received. Based on the value of the current dimension of the display area, a display frame is determined from one or more of the plurality of frames to display in the display area. The display frame is displayed in the display area.

  • Patent number: 6526517
Abstract: A system for reducing the startup current demand of a computer system by providing clock signals at normal operating frequencies to a plurality of computer components in a staggered progression. The computer system includes a clock buffer having a plurality of outputs each for providing a clock signal to at least one computer component. During the startup of the computer system, the clock buffer provides at each output a clock signal at a normal operating frequency to each component in a staggered progression with the other outputs. Consequently, only one component (or component group) becomes operational at a time during the startup of the computer system. In one example, each output of the clock buffer is coupled to a memory module that includes multiple SDRAM chips.

  • Patent number: 5064930
Abstract: A process comprising(A) preparing a solid polyarylate prepolymer having an inherent viscosity of at least about 0.1 by heating at a temperature in the range of 140.degree. C. to 300.degree. C. in the melt phase an acid anhydride derived from a carboxylic acid containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms, a dihydric phenol and an aromatic dicarboxylic acid in the presence of a hypernucleophilic base which comprises a heterocyclic aromatic compound containing nitrogen and having an aprotic electron releasing group directly bonded to a carbon atom in the aromatic compound, and(B) increasing the molecular weight of the solid polyarylate prepolymer to an inherent viscosity of at least 0.4.

  • Patent number: 5006628
Abstract: A process for preparing a polyarylate by heating in the melt phase in the presence of a 4-dialkylaminopyridine, an acid anhydride which is in the range of stoichiometric amount to 25% molar excess, bisphenol-A and a dicarboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of isophthalic acid and mixtures of isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid wherein the ratio of isophthalic acid to terephthalic acid is in the range of 100:0 to 25:75.

  • Patent number: H1987
Abstract: The use of a specified molecular weight range of poly(alkylene ether)s, such as poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), poly(tetramethylene glycol) (PTMG), and poly(propylene glycol) (PPG), and end-capped poly(alkylene ether)s, as plasticizers for polyesters such as poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET), poly(propylene terephthalate) (PPT), poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT), poly(ethylene naphthalate) (PEN), and poly(1,4-cyclohexanedimethylene terephthalate) (PCT), that are non-volatile during drying processes as well as during melt processing. Such poly(alkylene ether)s and end-capped poly(alkylene ether)s decrease the melt viscosity of the polymer matrix and depress the glass transition temperature, and thereby improve the processability of polyesters.
