  • Publication number: 20220382049
Abstract: A system comprises a sensor subsystem for imaging an object space, and a telescope for coupling electromagnetic energy from the object space to the sensor subsystem. The system comprises a bypass optical path that bypasses the telescope on the way to the sensor subsystem in order to provide a larger field of view of the object space. The bypass path and the telescope path merge at a merging point between the telescope and the sensor subsystem, and are disjoint upstream of the merging point. A simple bypass configuration is therefore provided, with possibly just a single fold mirror at the merging point. A sensor may form an intermediate image, and a frame is placed at the intermediate image to reject stray radiation and provide a real and accessible intermediate pupil for the sensor. Other features are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9636599
Abstract: A toy is controlled by a smart device with wireless communication network connection capability, a display screen and programmed to generate optical control signals transmitted through the screen. The toy includes a main body, a control circuit, a holder configured to receive and releasably hold the smart device, and an optical signal receiver supported facing the display screen of the smart device in the holder and operably connected with the control circuit. The control circuit responds to optical control signals transmitted through the screen and detected by the optical signal receiver to control at least one operation of the toy.

  • Publication number: 20140282033
Abstract: Embodiments include a system or method with an electronic device that includes a touch sensitive display screen that is configured to receive identification input from a contact device. The electronic device includes a processor configured to display a message to download one or more applications that are compatible with the contact device after the processor determines that the one or more applications are absent from the electronic device, and the processor is configured to change a display output based on the interactions with the contact device when the one or more applications that are compatible with the contact device are present in the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 8461468
Abstract: A multidirectional switch includes a base, a weight coupled to the base via resilient member, and at least first and second contacts coupled to the base. The weight is biased toward a neutral position spaced from the first and second contacts. The weight is movable toward and contacts the first contact when a first force is applied to the base, which deforms the resilient member in a first direction. The weight is movable toward and contacts the second contact when a second force is applied to the base, which deforms the resilient member in a second direction different than the first direction.

  • Patent number: 8358286
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electronic device, and in particular, to the input and output of data from the electronic device. The present invention also relates to an object that is identifiable by an electronic device having a touch screen. The object includes contact members that can engage or be positioned proximate to the touch screen. The contact members create contact points that are sensed or detected by the touch screen. The object is at least partly conductive and includes at least a first contact member and a second contact member spaced from the first contact member. The first and second contact members define the pattern of contact points. An output is generated and displayed by the touch screen when the object engages or is proximate to the touch screen and is identified.
