Publication number: 20220382049Abstract: A system comprises a sensor subsystem for imaging an object space, and a telescope for coupling electromagnetic energy from the object space to the sensor subsystem. The system comprises a bypass optical path that bypasses the telescope on the way to the sensor subsystem in order to provide a larger field of view of the object space. The bypass path and the telescope path merge at a merging point between the telescope and the sensor subsystem, and are disjoint upstream of the merging point. A simple bypass configuration is therefore provided, with possibly just a single fold mirror at the merging point. A sensor may form an intermediate image, and a frame is placed at the intermediate image to reject stray radiation and provide a real and accessible intermediate pupil for the sensor. Other features are also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 20, 2022Publication date: December 1, 2022Inventor: Bruce Cannon

Patent number: 8461468Abstract: A multidirectional switch includes a base, a weight coupled to the base via resilient member, and at least first and second contacts coupled to the base. The weight is biased toward a neutral position spaced from the first and second contacts. The weight is movable toward and contacts the first contact when a first force is applied to the base, which deforms the resilient member in a first direction. The weight is movable toward and contacts the second contact when a second force is applied to the base, which deforms the resilient member in a second direction different than the first direction.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2010Date of Patent: June 11, 2013Assignee: Mattel, Inc.Inventor: Bruce Cannon

Patent number: 8358286Abstract: The present invention relates to an electronic device, and in particular, to the input and output of data from the electronic device. The present invention also relates to an object that is identifiable by an electronic device having a touch screen. The object includes contact members that can engage or be positioned proximate to the touch screen. The contact members create contact points that are sensed or detected by the touch screen. The object is at least partly conductive and includes at least a first contact member and a second contact member spaced from the first contact member. The first and second contact members define the pattern of contact points. An output is generated and displayed by the touch screen when the object engages or is proximate to the touch screen and is identified.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2011Date of Patent: January 22, 2013Assignee: Mattel, Inc.Inventor: Bruce Cannon
