Publication number: 20200150997Abstract: Methods, software, and apparatus for implementing live migration of virtual machines hosted by a Linux operating system (OS) and running a Microsoft Windows OS. Communication between the VM and a network device is implementing using a virtual function (VF) datapath coupled to a Single-root input/output virtualization (SR-IOV) VF on the network device and an emulated interface coupled to a physical function on the network device, wherein the emulated interface employs software components in a Hypervisor, and the VF datapath bypasses the Hypervisor. In one aspect, the VF datapath is active when the SR-IOV VF is available, and the datapath fails over to the emulated data path when the SR-IOV VF is not available. Disclosed live migration solutions employ Windows NDIS (Network Driver Interface Specification) components including NDIS Miniport interfaces and MUX IM drivers, enabling live migration to be transparent to the Windows OS. NetKVM drivers are also used for Linux Hypervisors including KVM.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2020Publication date: May 14, 2020Inventors: Yu Bruce Chang, Mitu Aggarwal, Jani Nrupal, Ramanathan Ramanathan

Patent number: 8028347Abstract: A hand protection structure is provided. The hand protection structure includes a fixing unit, a plurality of finger protection units, a plurality of fingertip members, and a plurality of backbone members. The finger protection units are configured of flat strip shapes. Each of finger protection units has one fingertip member assembled at a distal end thereof, and a fastening piece is configured at the end thereof of the finger protection unit for mounting the finger protection unit to the fixing unit. The hand protection structure can be assembled in a glove. When a hand of the user is impacted by external forces, the finger protection units relieve the external impact to protect the fingers from injury.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2009Date of Patent: October 4, 2011Assignee: Philla Industries Inc.Inventor: Bruce Chang

Publication number: 20110107498Abstract: A finger protection structure adapted to be assembled in a glove is provided. The finger protection structure includes a protection strip unit, and an engagement unit. The protection strip unit is configured with a plurality of fixing portions on an upper surface of the protection strip unit. Each fixing portion is configured with a top edge and a bottom edge. The bottom edges are adapted for being engaged from two opposite directions. The engagement unit includes a widened strip member, and a plurality of engagement blocks configured on a surface of the widened strip member. The engagement blocks are adapted for engaging with the bottom edges of the fixing portions, such that the engagement blocks are tightly arranged in close contact in a row side by side on the upper surface of the protection strip unit for restricting a reverse bending of the finger protection structure for protecting the fingers.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 20, 2010Publication date: May 12, 2011Inventor: Bruce Chang

Publication number: 20060153744Abstract: The present invention is a device for playing a cartridge for dispersing scented materials into a room. The cartridge generally has a plurality of scent elements supported on a rotatable disk. The device includes a housing, a blower assembly, a platter, a motor, first and second sensors and a control unit. The housing has a cavity for receiving the cartridge and is formed with an air intake and an exhaust port. The blower assembly is mounted within the housing for generating an airflow by drawing air in through the air intake over the cavity to diffuse at least one of the plurality of scent elements out through the exhaust port. The platter is configured to engage the rotatable disk and is rotated by the motor. The platter, first and second sensors and a control unit cooperate to control the rotation of the disk. The device can also include a heating element for activating the scent elements.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 8, 2006Publication date: July 13, 2006Inventors: Stanley Thompson, Ricardo Silveira, David Bossa, Jaideep Jayaram, Brice Westring, Keith Fanta, Stephan Bush, Bruce Chang

Publication number: 20050189903Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a variable speed motor of a combined belt and disk sander includes a drive circuit, an inverter circuit, a current detection device, a transducer and a control circuit. The drive circuit produces variable frequency square pulses. The inverter circuit utilizes the square pulses to produce a variable frequency voltage to drive the motor at variable speeds. The current detection device detects any current changes in the motor and returns a feedback current to the control circuit. The transducer provides a variable resistance connected to the control circuit so a person can set a desired speed of the motor by adjusting the transducer. The control circuit controls the frequency of the square pulses sent by the drive circuit to control the variable speed of the motor.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2004Publication date: September 1, 2005Applicant: Rexon Industrial Corp., LTD.Inventors: George Ku, Eric Lo, Bruce Chang
