Patent number: 11432679Abstract: Described herein is a cooking pot comprising (a) a food vessel that has an opening in the shape of an oval or a polygon with more than two sides, and (b) a lid sized and shaped to substantially cover the opening of the food vessel. According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the lid has a ring protruding from the bottom face, concentric about a vertical axis of the vessel. When the lid is rotated about the vertical axis at an angle from a closed position, the protruding ring is positioned adjacent to an interior edge of the vessel, corners or vertices of the opening are uncovered, and corresponding corners or vertices of the lid hang over the vessel exterior.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2020Date of Patent: September 6, 2022Assignee: CANADIAN TIRE CORPORATION, LIMITEDInventors: Anthony Chimbuya, Bruce Cooper, David Quan, Anthony Wolf, Helen Kerr, Chay Young Lee, Brett Belcher

Patent number: 11431514Abstract: During provisioning of a biometric device, a hardware root of trust is established between the biometric device and a server. The biometric device includes a cryptographic processor with a first encryption key stored in secure storage. The first encryption key is used to establish a mutually authenticated communication channel with the server. A set of additional encryption keys between the device and the server are established via the communication channel. Biometric data generated by the biometric device is encrypted using the additional keys and digitally signed. The server receives the encrypted and signed data via the communication channel and verifies the signature. Once the signature is verified, the biometric data is then decrypted. The server then processes the decrypted biometric data. Data that does not arrive via the communication channel, that fails the verification, or that fails decryption is deleted or disregarded.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2020Date of Patent: August 30, 2022Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Sarath Geethakumar, Krutarth Mukesh Gathani, Bruce Cooper, Eric Crahen

Patent number: 10169739Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods for facilitating the integration of former inmates into society upon release from inmate facilities. A representative embodiment of the present invention allows participating inmates to utilize one or more pre-defined services during their period of incarceration. Utilization of these pre-defined services increases the participant's likelihood of rehabilitation, thus reducing recidivism. Examples of pre-defined services include identification, education, employment, financial, housing, and social connection services. A release package based upon information collected during use of these services also provides a personal dossier that facilitates criminal investigations, parole evaluations, probation determinations, and the like.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2007Date of Patent: January 1, 2019Assignee: Securus Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Luke Keiser, Bruce Cooper

Patent number: 9965746Abstract: Systems and methods are shown which provide processor-based self-service systems for use with respect to controlled environment facilities. Embodiments provide processor-based self-service systems having robust input/output capabilities in order to support a wide range of functionality. Processor-based self-service systems of embodiments are adapted to be deployed within a controlled environment facility, such as within a lobby area, a holding area, and/or a restricted area of a controlled environment facility. According to embodiments, processor-based self-service systems are used with respect to a plurality of functions and a plurality of users, thereby processing a variety of information associated with a controlled environment facility. Embodiments operate to aggregate, compile, correlate, and link information to provide data heretofore unavailable from separate or manual systems used with respect to controlled environment facilities.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2005Date of Patent: May 8, 2018Assignee: Securus Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Luke Keiser, Bruce Cooper, John J. Viola, Randy Hoffman

Patent number: 7860226Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods which provide techniques providing account setup, management and transaction authorization determinations in real-time using transaction interrupt messaging. Embodiments preferably take into consideration the quality of one or more parties to the transaction and the means by which charges may be rendered to them when making account setup, management, and/or transaction authorization determinations. Accordingly, transactions, such as collect calls, meeting at least some minimal risk threshold may be completed on a first call attempt, even where a pre-arranged billing agreement or other business relationship is not previously in place.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2006Date of Patent: December 28, 2010Assignee: Securus Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Richard Falcone, Robert Mudd, Timothy J. Murphy, Jimmie Jones, Jr., Marc Hite, Luke Keiser, Bruce Cooper, Michelle L. Polozola, Randy Hoffman

Patent number: 7654052Abstract: A building component having first and second high density foam panels and improved bridging members for connecting the panels that extend between and may be molded into the panels. The bridging members include a pair of elongated end plates oriented in a top to bottom direction of the panels, a pair of substantially identical web members joining the end plates and being substantially symmetrically disposed above and below a central horizontal axis of the bridging member, and a pair of strip members oriented in the top to bottom direction of the panels intersecting the web members. The web members have a unique configuration that maximizes load bearing capacity with a minimum amount of material. The strip members may abut against and be substantially flush with respective inner surfaces of the foam panels to assist in positioning and forming the panels during molding. Seating areas for positioning horizontally and/or vertically disposed rebar in predetermined positions are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2007Date of Patent: February 2, 2010Assignee: ARXX Building Products, Inc.Inventors: Bruce Cooper, G. Richie Scott, Robert E. Sculthorpe, Graham A. Knowles

Patent number: 7653880Abstract: A data-binding engine is used to perform command binding. A data binding engine binds user interface controls such as buttons, menus, list boxes, etc. to commands exposed on an application model. A data source and data binding path may be specified in a markup language that defines how the commands are bound to UI elements.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2004Date of Patent: January 26, 2010Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Ted Andrew Peters, Kenneth Bruce Cooper, Lutz Röder, Samuel W. Bent, Namita Gupta, David J. Jenni

Patent number: 7539687Abstract: Priority binding enables a one-to-many mapping of a target to a source without requiring complex code development by the specification of one or more binding statements. During runtime, these bindings are evaluated. The highest priority binding that evaluates successfully is executed, controlling the two-way transfer of information between source and target. During execution, all possible data binding pathways are monitored. If a binding that has a higher priority than the existing binding evaluates successfully, the existing binding is terminated and the new binding is executed.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2004Date of Patent: May 26, 2009Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Ted Andrew Peters, Kenneth Bruce Cooper, Samuel W. Bent, Namita Gupta, David J. Jenni

Patent number: 7472347Abstract: A list control allows for a harmonized display of heterogeneous list element data by using at least two templates. The templates define the layout for the list element data. The templates consult an interface while calculating the layout. The interface provides information regarding the location of at least one gridline; the layout for the list element data is based on that location. The list control implements the interface, thus allowing heterogeneous templates to rely one interface providing on one gridline location. In order to take into account the requirements of each list element for gridline location, the interface requests information regarding a preliminary gridline location for each list element and bases the final gridline location on this information.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2004Date of Patent: December 30, 2008Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Kenneth Bruce Cooper, Ted Andrew Peters
