Abstract: The packet dispenser includes a container structure having an interior cavity. The cavity has a sufficient dimension such that a packet structure may be stored therein. The container structure has an opening to the cavity through which the packet structure can be removed therefrom. A tear structure is connected to the container structure such that the packet structure may contact the tear structure to tear a portion thereof when the packet structure is removed from the cavity.

Abstract: An aspect of the invention provides a tearable package for a pharmaceutical product including: (i) a first layer including a sheet of flexible material; (ii) a second layer including a sheet of flexible material; the layers being overlaid and fused together at a perimetrical sealing region, the fused layers defining a cavity therebetween for the storage of the pharmaceutical product; wherein one of the layers has a discontinuous region in the sealing region; and wherein the package may be folded through the discontinuous region to be torn such that the pharmaceutical contents may be removed.

Abstract: The packet structure includes an envelope structure and a tear structure therein. The tear structure provides for tearing of a specific section of the envelope structure to gain access to a film strip which is stored within an internal cavity in the envelope structure. The tear structure has a reduced resistance to tearing relative to an adjoining portion of the envelope structure. The reduced resistance to tearing directs the tearing of the envelope structure to a specific section thereof. The tear structure may alternatively have a pull-string attached within the envelope structure and extending through an aperture therein to a location outside of the envelope structure. The location of the aperture and attachment of the pull-string within the envelope structure directs the tearing of the envelope structure to a specific section thereof.

Abstract: A storage and dispensing apparatus designed to contain pre-measured amounts of a substance(s). The apparatus comprises at least one compartment, preferably at least two compartments, for storing the substance(s) that is partially enclosed by a frangible seal, an applicator or dispensing conduit, and an expandable chamber designed to accept and dissipate the hydraulic force created when pressure is applied to the at least one compartment rupturing the frangible seal, and expelling the substance(s) into the chamber. The applicator is attached to the chamber with an applicator bond area. The expandability of the chamber is conferred by expandability of the chamber walls and of the applicator, when present, and is varied in different embodiments by altering the ratio between the area of the applicator bond area and the area of the applicator. The frangible seal, in one of many embodiments, may be a chevron shape stress riser with a point of inflection oriented towards the compartment.
