  • Patent number: 12106172
Abstract: A location tracking system for tracking locations of individuals in a defined area such as an amusement park includes a plurality of location markers, each of which has a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag with an identification code. Each location marker of the plurality of location markers is in wireless communication with at least one kiosk of a plurality of kiosks. The RFID tag of each location marker transmits identification signals to at least one kiosk of the plurality of kiosks. The kiosks are in communication with each other. The plurality of kiosks cooperatively determine a location of each location marker of the plurality of location markers via a location algorithm. A selected kiosk of the plurality of kiosks is configured for communicating a location of a chosen location marker of the plurality of location markers to a user.

  • Publication number: 20230024602
Abstract: Embodiments provide for identifying and resolving conflicts in access permissions migrated data by receiving a set of mappings including path mappings of a hierarchy of data objects on the source system to locations on the target system for migrated data objects. Based on the received set of mappings, permissions controlling access to data objects of the hierarchy of data objects on the source system can be translated to permissions controlling access to the migrated data objects on the target system for one or more user accounts on the target system. One or more conflicts can be detected between permissions on the source system and permissions on the target system. A conflict resolution strategy can be selected from a plurality of conflict resolution strategies and the selected conflict resolution strategy can be applied to the permissions controlling access to the migrated data objects on the target system.

  • Patent number: 7997494
Abstract: A portable device has a storage medium for storing media content such as audio and video files. The portable device can communicate with an external media player or network when it is connected to the player or situated near the player. The external media player allows a user to select items of media content for presentation. Each time a user selects a new item of media content for presentation on the external media player, a copy of the selected media content is automatically transferred to the storage medium on the portable device. Thus, when the user removes the portable device from the external media player, the user has a history of his/her recent selections as well as copies of his/her recent selections stored on the portable device.

  • Publication number: 20080235198
Abstract: A system includes a device (MS-a) which stores media content information using a form of Content Directory Service (CDS) and querying devices (CP-a) which make queries for media content information. An entity (70) provides a translation service for querying devices (CP-a). Entity (70) translates a query (302) from the querying device (CP-a) into an optimised query using previously acquired knowledge of the CDS of the device (MS-a). This can reduce the time taken to extract the required information from a serving device. The knowledge of the CDS can include the structure, scope, metadata availability, content distribution, search facilities and querying performance offered by the Content Directory Service (CDS) of the serving device (MS-a). The system can be based on Universal Plug and Play (UPnP).

  • Publication number: 20070173367
Abstract: A power transmitting device, such as a differential, having a housing, input and output shafts, which are rotatably disposed in the housing, a gear set, one or more actuators and/or one or more sensors disposed within the housing, and a connector having a fitting, a seal member and a locking member. The gear set is operable for transmitting rotary power between the input and output shafts. The fitting has a body that extends through a hole formed in the housing. The body includes a plurality of terminals that are electrically coupled to the at least one electrical components. The seal member is disposed between the fitting and the housing to form a seal therebetween. The locking member engages the body and the housing to retain the fitting to the housing. The fitting facilitates electrical connection of the electrical components within the housing with a wire harness that is external to the housing.

  • Publication number: 20070118606
Abstract: A serving device (MS) stores media content information (meta-data) in a directory, such as the Content Directory Service (CDS, 55) of UPnP. Querying devices, such as UPnP Control Point devices (CP), can query the CDS (55) to obtain information. An alternative representation of the CDS (V-CDS) is maintained by an entity of the system. The alternative, or ‘virtual’, CDS (V-CDS) stores selected information in a manner which can be more efficiently queried by querying devices. Preferably, the structure of the reorganised information is optimised for the specific browsing, searching and retrieval tasks of the user interface (UI) of a particular querying device. The virtual CDS (VCDS) can aggregate information from a number of different serving devices (MS-a, MS-b, FIG. 5) and can provide a service either to a single querying device or to a group of querying devices.

  • Publication number: 20070096691
Abstract: The availability of a charging facility for a portable electronic device is detected by the portable electronic device by establishing a short range wireless communication link between a battery charger and the portable device, and transferring compatibility data over the wireless communication link from the charger to the portable electronic device to determine a compatibility between the battery charger and the portable electronic device. The portable electronic device (such as a mobile phone or PDA) comprises: means for receiving a rechargeable battery; means for receiving compatibility data, over a wireless communication link, from a remotely located battery charger, and means for using said compatibility data to detect the presence of a battery charger compatible with the portable electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20070088675
Abstract: A querying device, such as a user interface (21), generates a query (202) for media content information from the Content Directory Service (CDS, 55) of a serving device (MS-a). A device providing a Query Estimation Service (QES, 70) also receives the query (203) and provides an estimate of at least one parameter of the response (204). This can include the expected time that the serving device (MS-a) will take to respond. The querying device provides feedback to the user corresponding to the delay, such as an appropriate form of graphical display.

  • Publication number: 20070055650
Abstract: A caching device (70) queries (203a) the CDS of a serving device (MS-a) for media content information and stores the results (204a) for later retrieval. The query (203a) can be made in response to receiving a request (202) from a querying device (UI, 21) to perform the query or in response to a query formulated by the caching device itself. The cached results can be accessed by the querying device in preference to re-performing the required query. The cached results can be maintained up-to-date at the request of the querying device (21) or automatically without involvement of the querying device.

  • Publication number: 20070056013
Abstract: A portable device (50) has a storage medium (60) for storing media content such as audio and video files. The portable device (50) can communicate with an external media player or network (10) when it is connected to the player (10) or near to the player (10). The external media player (10) allows a user to select items of media content for presentation (15, 30, 32, 34). • Publication number: 20060221173
Abstract: Terminals (110) at premises (100, 200, 250) of a group of users allow the group to collectively experience and discuss media content selected by a member of the group. Terminals (110) are interconnected via a network (internet 300). Terminal (110) receives a first user's selection of media content, such as a television channel, for presentation by a media presentation device (e.g. television receiver 150) local to the terminal (110). Terminal (110) forwards an identifier of the selected media content to other terminals at premises (200, 250) over the network (300). Other terminals receive, via network (300), the identifiers of media content selected by the first user and instruct a media presentation device local to them to present the same media content In the event that a terminal cannot access the selected content using one of it's local media presentation devices, it may seek an alternative source, such as an online source on the network (300).
