Apparatus and method for coating a material with resin and applying the coated material to a surface
Patent number: 9279257Abstract: A device for saturating material with resin and subsequently laying the saturated material onto a surface includes a frame and a vessel for retaining the resin attached to the frame. The vessel has a slot sized and configured so that material is passable through the slot after being coated with resin retained in the vessel. A first guide member is positioned adjacent the slot and a second guide member is positioned adjacent the slot and is spaced apart from the first guide member to define a passageway between the first and second guide members. The passageway is sized and configured for the material to be passable through the passageway and out of the device for laying on the surface. Embodiments of the device can be usable for methods of waterproofing and/or roofing.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2013Date of Patent: March 8, 2016Assignee: SIKA TECHNOLOGY AGInventor: Bruce E. Publication number: 20080280552Abstract: Methods for preventing exhaust backflow into a blower are disclosed. Embodiments may include a blower system with an invertible blower chassis having a blower exhaust to direct airflow from the blower chassis at an airflow angle. The system may also include a backflow damper frame attached to the blower chassis and positioned to receive airflow from the blower chassis and one or more vertical damper vanes rotatably attached to the backflow damper frame. Each damper vane may freely rotate between a first, closed position and a second, open position. The damper vanes may block airflow into the blower exhaust when in the closed position and may freely rotate to a position where the damper vanes are substantially parallel to the airflow from the blower exhaust. The damper vanes may each include a vane pin to rotatably attach to frame holes of the backflow damper frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2008Publication date: November 13, 2008Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Bruce E. Patent number: 6994572Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus, system, and method for enabling the installation of an installable device configured with a required component in a receiving device. A component deactivated interlock obstructs the installation of the installable device when not configured with the required component. The invention makes use of an extendable and retractable plunger disposed upon the installable device, a stop barrier disposed upon the receiving device, and an actuator disposed upon the required component. The plunger normally extends beyond the installable device, and upon contacting the stop barrier of the receiving device obstructs the installation. Upon a physical connection of the required component with the installable device, the actuator retracts the plunger, thereby enabling the installation of the installable device.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2003Date of Patent: February 7, 2006Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Bruce E. Patent number: 6497465Abstract: An anti-tilt mechanism for a drawer assembly, the drawer assembly being in a rack, is disclosed. The anti-tilt mechanism comprises two railing portions coupled to the rack and two brackets, each of the two brackets respectively coupled to one of the two railing portions. Each of the. two brackets comprises a first planar portion and a second planar portion, the second planar portion coupled to the top of the first planar portion and extending substantially perpendicular to the first planar portion, the second planar portion capable of preventing the drawer assembly from tilting during a slidable operation thereof. The anti-tilt mechanism in accordance with the present invention prevents the drawer assembly from tilting during the slidable operation of the assembly. This is desirable because if tilting occurs during the slidable operation of the assembly, the assembly could be damaged and/or a system operator could be injured.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2000Date of Patent: December 24, 2002Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Bruce E. Patent number: 6378966Abstract: A device for use with a computer drawer assembly, the computer drawer assembly including a safety latch. The device comprises a first planar portion and a second planar portion coupled to the first planar portion wherein the second planar portion retracts the safety latch during the slidable operation of the computer system. The device eliminates the tedious process of having to manually retract the safety latch with a screwdriver-type tool when using the computer drawer assembly. This adds significant convenience when a system operator needs to slidably maneuver the computer drawer assembly.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2000Date of Patent: April 30, 2002Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Bruce E. Patent number: 5716290Abstract: A golf club comprises a club shaft and a club head connected to an end portion of the club shaft, the club head having a gravimetric center and head body portions extending along mutually orthogonal axes extending through the gravimetric center. At least one of the head body portions is of different geometric configuration on respective opposite sides of the gravimetric center. The club head defines a recess extending to the gravimetric center, the recess having an axis disposed orthogonally to the mutually orthogonal axes. The club shaft end portion is disposed in the club head recess. The club head may include a member secured to an exterior surface of the club head and comprised of a material different from material constituting the club head, the member defining exterior surface for hitting engagement with a golf ball, the member exterior surface having an arcuate configuration.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 1996Date of Patent: February 10, 1998Assignee: Hustler Golf Co.Inventors: Bruce E.
