    Abstract: A reefing system comprising an annular flexible membrane having a centrally located vent opening and a plurality of guides symmetrically spaced around the periphery of the membrane. The reefing system retards or slows opening of the canopy of a parachute in order to reduce the shock normally encountered with parachutes.
