  • Patent number: 5248768
Abstract: Glycopeptides of human cytomegalovirus have been isolated and purified. These glycopeptides and antibodies reactive with them are useful in diagnosis and therapy.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 26, 1991
Date of Patent: September 28, 1993
    Assignee: The Children's Hospital, Incorporated
Inventors: Nancy O. Lussenhop, Bruce E. Kari, Richard C. Gehrz
  • Patent number: 5153311
Abstract: Substantially-pure immunogenic glycoprotein complexes of the gCII family, and constituent glycoproteins which can be derived from the membrane envelope of human cytomegalovirus are provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 3, 1988
Date of Patent: October 6, 1992
    Assignee: The Children's Hospital, Incorporated
Inventors: Bruce E. Kari, Richard C. Gehrz
  • Patent number: 5126130
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a composition containing a first monoclonal antibody, capable of neutralizing human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), that binds to a first epitope on HCMV GCA, and a second non-neutralizing HCMV monoclonal antibody that binds to a second epitope on HCMV GCA. The GCA complex includes antigenically-related glycoproteins of molecular weights 130,000, 93,000, and 50,000-52,000 kDa. The mixture of the two antibodies has greater neutralizing activity than a composition containing the first antibody alone. Also provided is a method for neutralizing the infectivity of HCMV using the composition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 7, 1987
Date of Patent: June 30, 1992
    Assignee: The Childrens Hospital Incorporated
Inventors: Nancy O. Lussenhop, Bruce E. Kari, Richard C. Gehrz
