  • Patent number: 7276020
Abstract: A method and apparatus comprises a circuit adapted to be coupled to a power supply which produces a pulsed DC output, and a magnetic field generating coil coupled to the output of the circuit which is effective to produce a time varying magnetic field having a flux density in the range of about 0.0001 to 2.0 gauss at a frequency in the range of about 0 to 45 Hz. The coil is positioned at or near the site on the body of the patient to be treated, or, alternatively, beneath the patient's sleeping surface for a period ranging from about one-half hour to several hours depending upon the method and condition to be treated.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 27, 2004
Date of Patent: October 2, 2007

  • Patent number: 4863100
Abstract: This invention relates to an electronic flow control circuit for use in the low voltage section of an existing control arrangement of a hydronic heating system that utilizes motorized zone valves, to provide a means for controlling fluid flow through the system in order to eliminate hydrostatic shock (water hammer) associated with fast closing motorized zone valves.

  • Patent number: 4103698
Abstract: An apparatus is described for removing and collecting labels from bottles while the bottles are being cleaned prior to being fed into a filling line in a bottling plant. During cleaning, the bottles are transported in inverted position in pockets of a pocket conveyor through a series of caustic baths. To avoid contaminating these baths with freed labels, they are removed by sprays while the bottles travel between a pair of baths. The novel device includes downwardly directed spray for spraying rinsing solution on the bottles and a collecting trough beneath the sprays and pockets to collect the rinsing solution and labels. To permit free passage of the labels out of the pockets, a cam mechanism is provided which lifts the bottle shoulders out of engagement with the pockets while the labels are being removed.

  • Patent number: 4081078
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a carton sorting device which comprises a main conveyor and at least one subsidiary conveyor angled away from the main conveyor at a branching unit. The main conveyor is adapted to apply a lateral force to articles having a lateral dimension below a preselected value so as to urge such articles onto the subsidiary conveyor. Articles having a lateral dimension greater than said preselected value are not affected. In this way, a mixture of the small and large articles are divided into two streams, the main conveyor carrying a stream of larger articles and the subsidiary conveyor only a stream of smaller articles. The invention also makes provision for sorting streams of articles having differences in their longitudinal dimension.

  • Patent number: 4051958
Abstract: A novel device is described for unloading and orienting articles, such as cartons, stacked in tiers on a pallet. The device includes a tiltable pallet receiver which receives a loaded pallet in horizontal position and then tilts the pallet and tiered articles thereon onto their sides with the article tiers forming a series of substantially vertical, adjacent stacks. A means is provided for intermittently advancing the pallet and tiers horizontally in a direction away from the receiver when in a tilted position towards a single tier receiver which receives a single vertical stack of tiered articles from the pallet. The tier receiver is horizontally movable for moving the received stack laterally away from the next adjacent stack and support devices are provided for securely holding the stack in the tier receiver and the next adjacent stack in the pallet during this movement of the tier receiver.
