The protective article of clothing wraps around a leg of an individual to protect the individual from being bitten by a snake.

An outside layer overlays the inside layer and is die-cut to have a plurality of leaf tabs cut therein with the leaf tabs having a substantially elliptical shape having a cut perimeter on opposite sides and a cut end therebetween, with an opposite end to the cut end forming a live hinge with respect to the outside layer, to permit the leaf tabs to deflect from the outside layer in a random fashion to create an outer appearance of random leaves.

A jacket has a body portion, two arm portions, and a closable neck portion normally having a horizontal cross section slightly greater than the neck of a wearer, but less than a horizontal cross section of the skirt portion, whereupon when the closable neck portion is closed around and over the skirt portion in overlapping condition, the skirt portion will be compressed towards the neck of the wearer to inhibit the passage of insects between the overlapping condition of the headnet and the neck portion of the jacket.
