Publication number: 20240156719Abstract: Release of a neurological drug in a targeted region of a subject's brain by a drug delivery system (DDS) is intentionally caused by the subject watching or interacting with an audio/video-based task on an electronic display. The DDS is calibrated to release the neurological drug based on a particular pH, lactate level, blood flow, temperature, magnetic field, specific molecules released by brain cells, or other physiological factors within the target region. The interactive task produces the physiological factors in the brain in specific areas of pathology for which the drug is prescribed, and limits drug delivery at areas unaffected by illness where it could disrupt normal function, causing problematic side effects and preventing dose levels optimal for target impact. Feedback from the interactive task and associated cognitive probes also can adapt the interactive task or suggest new pharmacologic agents as the degree or primary focus of brain pathology changes during the course of treatment.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2022Publication date: May 16, 2024Inventor: Bruce E. Publication number: 20200098276Abstract: A computer-implemented method, a computer program product, and a system are provided. A plurality of multi-level cognitive exercises are provided to an individual. Each of the multi-level cognitive exercises includes at least one task to perform. The individual is requested to respond to a cognitive exercise in the plurality of cognitive exercises by performing the at least one task contained in the cognitive exercise. A response provided by the individual to the cognitive exercise is monitored. Based on the monitoring, a determination is made whether the individual performed the at least one task at a predetermined performance level, wherein the performance level is defined by the at least one task contained in the cognitive exercise. Based on the determining, the individual is requested to perform at least another task. At least one activity for the individual to perform is generated. The at least one activity is based on responses to the multi-level cognitive exercises by the individual.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2019Publication date: March 26, 2020Applicant: Yale UniversityInventor: Bruce E. Publication number: 20160133149Abstract: Methods and apparatus for facilitating curricular content learning. The method comprises determining an initial order to present different types of learning modules to a user during a learning session. The learning modules include a curricular content learning module and a brain-training module configured to activate at least one brain system used for performing the curricular content learning module. The method further comprises presenting a first learning module of the plurality of learning modules on a user interface of a computer based, at least in part, on the initial order, recording user inputs during performance of the first learning module by a user, and updating the initial order based, at least in part, on the recorded user inputs to produce an updated order. A second learning module of the plurality of learning modules is presented on the user interface of the computer based, at least in part, on the updated order.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2015Publication date: May 12, 2016Inventor: Bruce E.
