Publication number: 20250194939Abstract: Medical devices can perform a plurality of functions, such as sensing, monitoring, deriving and/or calculating various physiological statuses of a patient (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, respiration rate, etc.). Medical devices can also be used to image part or all of a patient's body, to deliver a treatment, or to manage information related to a patient's care. The present disclosure is directed at one or more devices that perform these functions using a plurality of processing circuits, wherein each processing circuit has a timing circuit with a local clock. These processing circuits can be connected via a network, and each timing circuit can communicate with at least one other timing circuit in order to detect and correct time-differences between their local clocks. In this way, multiple processing circuits can be synchronized with each other to facilitate diagnosis or treatment of a patient's condition, or other aspects of a patient's care.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2024Publication date: June 19, 2025Applicant: ZOLL Medical CorporationInventors: Bruce Edwards, Tim Stever, Suzanne Crowell, Gary A. Publication number: 20250052289Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods including an electromechanical brake used downhole to impart dynamic or static braking capabilities while absorbing or otherwise reducing shock loads. The electromechanical brake may be used for a downhole electromechanical linear actuator to control a valve for the production of subterranean fluid. In some examples, it may be desirable for an electromechanical linear actuator to maintain a retracted position during certain safety and/or maintenance operations. The electromechanical brake includes a brake housing, a first armature rotatably disposed in the brake housing, a second armature rotatably disposed in the brake housing for rotation by a motor, an electrical coil energizable to urge the second armature into axial engagement with the first armature, and a rotational spring for biasing the first armature to a neutral rotational position relative to the brake housing while allowing a limited rotation of the first armature relative to the brake housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 30, 2024Publication date: February 13, 2025Applicant: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Bruce Edward Scott, Kevin Robin Passmore

Patent number: 12191658Abstract: A battery-powered node includes a primary cell, a secondary cell, and a battery controller. The battery controller includes a current source that draws power from the primary cell to charge the secondary cell. The battery-powered node draws power from the secondary cell across a wide range of current levels. When the voltage of the secondary cell drops beneath a minimum voltage level, the current source charges the secondary cell at a constant current level and a charging signal is sent to the battery-powered node. When the voltage of the second cell exceeds a maximum voltage level, the current source stops charging the secondary cell and the charging signal is terminated. The battery-powered node records the amount of time the charging signal is active, which can be used to determine a battery depletion level for the primary cell. Battery replacement may then be efficiently scheduled based on the depletion level.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2022Date of Patent: January 7, 2025Assignee: Itron Networked Solutions, Inc.Inventor: Bruce Edwards

Publication number: 20240428532Abstract: A fitness system operates during a fitness activity of a user to generate a display. The display simulates the performance of the fitness activity by the virtual fitness partner. In particular, the virtual fitness partner is superimposed within images viewed by the user to simulate performance of the fitness activity by the virtual fitness partner while the user is engaged in the activity. Differences in perspective are calculated based on a virtual position of the virtual fitness partner and a measured pace of the user generated based on sensor data from a fitness tracker. The virtual fitness partner can take actions such as generating critical or encouraging visual and/or auditory feedback in response to triggering events, for example, when the user falls behind the virtual fitness partner or takes the lead.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2024Publication date: December 26, 2024Inventors: Mark Wayne Hogue, Bruce Edward Stuckman
