  • Patent number: 7782606
Abstract: A hard disk drive carrier having a latch apparatus to facilitate leveraged insertion of a hard disk drive into a receiving drive bay to an interfaced position, securing of the hard disk drive carrier in the drive bay when the hard disk drive secured to the carrier interfaces with a host computer, leveraged dislodgement of the hard disk drive from its interfaced position for removal of the hard disk drive from the drive bay, and proper positioning of the latch apparatus upon insertion of the hard disk drive carrier to ensure proper engagement of the latch apparatus with the drive bay for leveraged insertion and removal.

  • Patent number: 7660108
Abstract: An apparatus for positioning an electronics module in an equipment chassis with adequate pathways for the flow of cooling air across the module or across one or more adjacent modules, such as one or more blade server. The system includes an electronics module movably secured within a sub-assembly prior to installing the sub-assembly in a bay of a chassis. Ramps disposed within one or more bays of the chassis engage and position the electronics modules within the range of movement permitted by the sub-assembly when the sub-assembly has been installed in the chassis. Two bays having ramps positioned differently can receive the same sub-assembly or an identical sub-assembly and position the module differently. Therefore, the sub-assemblies are interchangeable while maintaining appropriate air flow pathways.

  • Patent number: 6336828
Abstract: An automatic power docking mechanism for establishing a power connection between a computer electronic subsystem and a power distribution board within a computer chassis is provided. In one embodiment, the power docking mechanism includes power pads electrically coupled to a power distribution board and a housing with slotted openings secured over the power pads. The housing's slotted openings are configured to receive power bus bars from a computer subsystem and hold the bus bars in contact with the power pads.
